  • £20 came blowing to my feet when i was out painting our front fence one peaceful, non-breezy, summers day.

I think it was a sign....no-one about and this comes along. I must have done something good to get that :L

I'll join in if you change the title to "I challenge you to keep money you find on the street and in your husbands pockets when sorting out the washing" :rotfl:
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • When I was 12 and doing a newspaper round and I found a wallet - It was packed full of stuff from cards to photos and £100 in cash. I returned it to the police station and thought nothing more of it as surely someone would report £100 missing (this was 9 years ago). A day later I got a phone call from a cable channel saying they were the ones to put ten wallets with money out around my area and wanted to see how honest people were. Apparently I was the only one! Well not that surprizing but still. They gave me £500 as a reward and I got to be on tv. OK...so it was only me on the phone but all the same I was young and it was seriously cool. We donated half of the money to the Eczema society and the other half was spent on a day out shopping in London :D

Pays to be honest I guess!

I once found £300 in a cash machine. I couldnt see th person it belonged to so after standing around for a few minutes i went to work, taking the money to the police station after. No-one claimed it so i was allowed to keep it after 6 weeks. :D

When i find a reasonable amount of money, £5 or more i always give half to charity. I think thats why i've been so lucky with finding cash. I can think of about 4 or 5 occasions when i've found £20 and other times finding £10 or £5.

I found a bag one night in Switzerland. The only thing in it was a huge bunch of keys and a pair of specs. I was close to the police station so handed it in. I got the third degree from the police asking was there any money in there etc, and thought next time i would leave it where i found it. Then next day the door bell went and i guy was there asking if i was the person who found his bag last night. I said i was and hoped everything was there. It was he said as he took out his wallet and pulled out two, one hundred franc notes. NO, i said that is not necessary as I'm sure you would have handed it in if it had been mine. That's not the point he said as he took out a further two notes. He then explained that the bunch of keys in the bag were the keys to his watch factory and it was have cost an estimated 20,000 francs to change all the locks.
I didn't feel so bad about excepting the 400 francs then ;)

  • My wife once came home from work to find an old bath in our garden. She contacted the police who wern't interested. She contacted the council who wanted to charge us to collect it. So finally we borrowed her dads van & took it to the police station & handed it in as lost property, should have seen the officers face though, priceless.
