2) I was on holiday (Bournemouth) with my family and we were standing around at an open air concert one evening at dusk.My foot landed on something hard. I glanced down and saw it was a wallet. Without a word, I picked it up and pocketed it and said nothing. Soon after we left. I told my wife as we left the park and between us we opened it to see if it contained anything. There must have been a couple of hundred £'s in it, plus we noticed a teachers union card. We decided to go back to where we'd been standing. Three couples were still where we'd left them. I asked if either of them had lost anything. One of them discovered their wallet was missing and described what was in it, including the card. I handed it over and they said "thanks". I have to admit that we stood around a while longer. Five min later, they came over and gave me £5 which I declined, but they insisted I take it for the children who were very young. I did.
That's lovely, I expect it was their holiday money too. :TA minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

I've had my purse returned twice - there are some lovely people out there!
When I was younger I found some money(£40) in a garden where I did a paper round. I knocked on the door to return it, and being young, felt a bit miffed not to recieve a reward. On the way out of the garden I found another £20 and so I kept it. Later that night the woman came to my house and gave me a £10 reward. 20ish years later I still see this woman and feel crap knowing how I never gave her back all the money and she probably thinks what a lovely person I am!!1% challenge - £4018 - reduce by 100 payments of £41.0 -
I once went to use a cash machine when it started bleeping at me asking did I want to make another transaction. I hit the no button and out popped a card. I looked around for the guy who had last used the machine. I asked him had he lost his card and to confirm his name. He was very relieved and grateful.
In a car park of a supermarket once I found a wodge of bank and credit cards. One of the credit cards wasn't even signed  I handed them in and they took my details. I never did get a thankyou from the person who lost them but the feeling I had done the right thing was enough.
At a market once a £10 note came flying by me in the wind. I picked it up and stood looking around for awhile to see if anyone came chasing after it. No-one did but afterwards I was walking round expecting a tap on the shoulder from someone asking for it back :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

My 3 little storys are like this.....
I found £10 on a local street,no one around,no one watching, pocketed the £10,waited for a few minutes,no one came running out so carried on walking!
I found £5 in a pub, went to the barmaid and instantly pocketed by her....
Spotted a wallet on the street, went to pick it up to see if it had any i.d in it and got accused of robbing it a few seconds later...as one of his mates had 'thrown' it out of the window....
The moral of these storys....if its a wallet its 'iffy' ground and if its cash with no one about, its yours(Y)Dec Wins : Gold Leaf Necklace

In the early 80's my motherand sister were out in the saloon car and for some reason my mother put my sister's handbag on the boot of the car and drove off.
The bag was obviously not there when they got to their destination.
A few days later my sister got a phonecall to let her know that the bag, with a purse full of money had been found, and that the finder was only too willing to send it back if she had an address. The caller confirmed that the right amount of money was in there.
My sister asked the caller to send the bag back to her and to take the cost of the postage from the purse along with a few quid for the caller's honesty and trouble. The bag duly arrived back via Royal Mail and the caller had done exactly as she was asked.
On the other side of the coin, whilst in our village I found a handbag in the road and picked it up. I knocked on the door of the nearest house and asked the occupent if she had seen anyone lose it etc. She hadn't so I asked her to let the owner know that I had it, if she saw her.
We got it home and proceeded to look for a means of contact. We found her mobile phone and looked for phone numbers etc. We found her home phone number and my wife eventually contacted her husband.
Apparently he then phoned her at the place she was at and asked her where her handbag was...
"I've got it right here" she replied - then she said "Oh no I haven't!"
It had fallen out of a plastic bag.
She only had to come some 400 yards down the road to be reunited with it.
The following day I got a knock on the door. It was her with a box of chocolates.
A couple of years ago my youngest daughter found a £20 note in B and Q. We handed it into the customer service desk and they just put it to one side. I insisted that they took her name.
A day later we phoned them up on an unrelated matter and whilst we were on the phone we were told that the £20 was unclaimed and would be sent to her.

My dad works for the council, and one day he had to trim some bush or something, he found a wallet, sopping wet, caked in mud, covered in god knows what else (thank god for those council gloves :S) he found £200 in it, no cards, no ID. So OBVIOUSLY he pocketed it, and my mum whipped out the hairdryer at home, end result, crispy yet usable monies.Win £2008 in 2008 no #49 £601.91/£2008
