Dreams bed Superstore??? Complaints?

I so wish I had read these reviews before ordering with dreams, we ordered on the 25th August for delivery on the Friday 7th September. I had to take the day off work to wait on it but lo and behold no delivery and no contact from dreams at all as the email after purchasing stated we would.
I called dreams in the afternoon of the day of delivery and was told contradicting advice, firstly that it was being delivered that day, then that it was out of stock, then I was disconnected/hung up on, upon calling back the next person I spoke to told me it had been delivered to the courier Yodel but that had no plans to deliver that day, I was told somebody would contact me about redelivery, I also emailed a complaint to customer service that day ( still awaiting a reply) so I waited until today and I called them back and was told it was a stocking issue and next delivery is going to be the 21st of this month, not happy with waiting another 10 days I ask to speak to a manager...got told one will call me back within 24hrs, luckily for them one called back within 2hrs, the manager I did speak to was helpful, managed to get £70 compensation and now its going to be delivered on the 22nd (saturday as I am not taking another day off work on the 21st) and it will be delivered to my local store and sent by courier from there so hopefully it wont be Yodel (they sound just as bad as Dreams) as they only deliver wednesdays and Fridays in my area apparently, so we'll see if it actually does get delivered this time.0 -

Please can you let me know another shop where I can buy gloss black bedroom furniture (not my taste but thats their gift lol) and have it delivered and assembled in london?
Appreciate any CHEAP options you can throw at me, as most searches in London end up where wardrobes cost 2-3k+ each!!!
Thanks for your time,
Istiaque
Sorry I missed your post. I did a search on google and came up with these:

My first post on here so go gently on me!
Well I must be one of the lucky ones-I ordered an oak bed from Dreams (in store) and was told that it would take approx two weeks to be delivered-fair enough I thought. When I got home I looked on the web and found nothing but complaints about Dreams and to be honest my heart sank! I wondered what the hell I had let myself in for. Well two days ago I got a phone call to confirm my requested delivery slot, this morning I got a call to say that the delivery drivers were only half an hour away and then they turned up on time! The driver was courteous and helpful and the bed is great. My only gripe was having to pay £39 for delivery as it is free if you order online-but having said that, if I had of ordered it online I would probably be waiting until Christmas for my bed.
Even thou I got lucky (well, I got the service that I had hoped and had payed for) I still wont be recommending Dreams to anyone else as I dont want to be responsible for friends going through what most of you folks have had to endure!0 -

That's great that they get it right some of the time. I suppose the law of averages says that they will. And then you have to take into account that people are more likely to go onto forums to complain, than to give praise.
But I'd say the main reason not to recommend them is the fact that you wouldn't want to be responsible for friends and relatives paying more than double the price they need to (even in their sales).0 -
I've just set up a new thread about Dreams (Dreams Plc or should that be Nightmares Plc), not realising this thread is here. A representative from Dreams has responded to my thread and is asking for my order number. Is it safe to give this person my order number, as he could be anyone? Or am I just been overly paranoid?0

I've had same problem with Dreams as everyone else. Got nowhere fast trying to sort out via their dismal customer service dept on the phone. However, I sent an e-mail to their CEO - nickworthington@dreams.co.uk and they sorted out a refund the next day. Hope this helps others in the same boat.0

I have removed this post after email recieved from Nick Worthington and Chris Daniel, as I think it is only fair ,and that they are, at least ,in dialogue with myself, although at the moment the situation remains as it was.0

On the contrary, I ordered a double bed and mattress from Dreams online on 17th September, and arranged deliver for 4th October. It was brought promptly at 08.20hrs meaning I didn't have to hang around all day, the pleasant delivery men carried upstairs for me and I managed to assemble it no problem in half an hour with all pieces in perfect condition, present and correct. My new bed is a dream.
I'm glad I didn't read this before I ordered though!0 -

Well they must get it right at least some of the time, otherwise they wouldn't be in business.
But if you had read this thread, then you could probably have saved a lot of money, and paid half the price elswhere.0
