Hi, this is a great thread, I'd thought of doing something similar (but thought no-one would reply).
Would buy
From Sainsburys.......
Tins of sweetcorn, tomatoes, fresh fruit (all Sainsburys bananas are fairtrade) and veg (Sainsburys do Basic courgettes and butternut squash not seen value versions of in Tescos), cartons of orange juice, crumpets, baguettes, muffins, cheese, butter (for baking), kitchen roll, toilet roll, Basics cereal bars, meat (chicken and beef particularly), eggs (sorry animal lovers, needs must sometimes), flour, crisps
Tescos do value..........
balsamic vinegar, stock cubes
Would not buy
Tomato ketchup, beans/spaghetti, pasta, cereals, bread, sausages
Also, I have started cooking from scratch (using basic stock cubes and meat as a base). Saved so much money by doing this so far.Debts at the start of my journey - about £23,000 lightbulb moment 01.03.2007 (1st payment to CCCS)..Debt Free Date 25.06.2013 Deposit savings £17,000/£30,0000 -

for me, i can't buy cheap coffee or tea, or hot chocolate.... although i tend to ask for hot chocolate as a birthday / yule/piratemas/christmas/genericmidwintersfestival of choice....
at presenti have 12 kinds to work through
not a fan of cheap bread either, although i only eat bread when i really fancy it and tend to make it then, so not as relevant for me...
also sausages.... i can't get on with them... but again its a rarity for me...
and toilet roll, but i only spend around £7 a year on the good stuff now, as i buy it in utter bulk (36 pack with 33% extra free on bogof on top brands) from macro thanks to a friend with a macro card!

Toilet roll and tea for me. Has to be PG Tips, anything else is disgusting. And the cheap toilet roll, well you need more of it so it's not really saving. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130
