  • I am going to take your advice and start saving £2 a week when I got to Sainsburys.
  • This year we have done a 'secret santa' type ballot for our christams day crackers.
I have given each person a 'make your own' cracker (the sort you put your own present in - bought in the sales last year for about £1ish for 8).
We drew names out of a hat at the beginning of Oct and we all need to get a funny/appropriate/useful gift for our person - the pressie needs to be small enough to fit in the cracker and needs to be cheap (ie less than a couple of quid)

Crackers are brill, bound to be a laugh or have something useful int hem and not another set of mini screwdrivers! Cost for the host £1-£2 instead of a pretty penny for some expensive bought ones!
  • Get yourself a list together of who you need to buy for, set your budget per person, gather an ideas list of 2 or 3 things per person and then start shopping!!
    Good Luck x
  • not sure how long this is on for but Sainsubrys have got 50% off their entire toy range - it is mainly the £5-£10 range but loads of bargains to be had.
I managed to get a set of matchbox diggers/dumper trucks - 5 in a set for £2.50. Plus quite a few other stocking fillers.
Dr Who toys were down from £10 to £5

Oh and Asda have also got quite a few half price toys aswell
  • Asda have got 2 tins for £7 at the minute - only £3.50 for a tin!
It includes, Roses, Quality Street, Celebrations etc
  • I was in Costco last night and they have these (blue and pink versions) for just under £36.00 including the VAT.

The cheapest I have seen them anywhere else is £47.99 so a good saving if you intend getting one.
  • My daughter will be making Christmas cards this year for everyone and I'm making picalilli, branston, pickled onions, mincemeat and mince pies as presents.
  • I always go ebay to buy christmas gifts to save money!
  • I hope as many of you know that Bluewater has a Santa that is free this year (with gift). You can also book a slot on line so no 2 hour queue with small children yeah!:j
  • Hawkins bazaar have 2 discount voucher codes for online sales at the mo: CHRISTMAS08 for £5 off a +£30 spend and DSUK6 for £6 off a +£35 spend, on their website the offer code box is below your shopping list summary - I couldn't find it and thought it would be on the next page by which time it was too late!
