There's something about supermarket reward schemes in the Christmas Saving article on the MSE main page.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
CelebrateChristmas party in London with superb entertainment and excellent food at affordable rates.
Their offer is as follows...
Champagne served upon arrival (I have some nice crystal champagne flutes)
Luxurious 3 course Menu (I can cook, too)
1am licence (open 24/7 here :cool2: )
Flair Cocktail Bar (I make cocktails with flair  )
Sumptuous Champagne Garden (sounds sticky  )
Music DJ (we can dance to the music, all night )
£95  plus VAT Per head - Not including beverages (Not even a cuppa?)
£125   plus VAT Per Head including UNLIMITED beer and wine (that's one helluva pricey hangover!)
In true MSE form I spend little more than this on all of Christmas. I understand some peeps have more money than they know what to do with but £125+ for an evening out for one? Oh dear...I hope the credit crunch doesn't catch up with them before they're ready for it . Further, it's in London,ughh...my country residence is far more A-list! :rotfl:0 -

You should find a display in your local Tesco 's store. There is a machine for £1 coins that gives out the stamps and you will find cards next to it for collecting on. I tend to pick up a couple every time I'm in.
As someone else said, not the best return getting £1 for saving £49, but I just look on it as making the Christmas food shop a little easier at a time of year when money is short.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Newbie here.
I have got all the other peoples pets presies, I have got them cheap pet toys, most of the presies for my pets, just need a scratch post for the cats, got some people presents, most of them are going to be vouchers bought thru the post office website, not go much more to do, tend not to bother with extra food type stuff, dh normally works over xmas so no point, we haven't any kids so xmas isn't really a big thing for us, apart from the presents we buy for people nothing much changes and if that makes me sound like a scrooge then thats tuff lol.
I don't do the supermarket saving stamps because you can't use them online and as I am disabled I do most of my shopping online, but we do go into the tesco to spend the clubcard vouchers, we usually get a dvd or something like for ourselves with them and same with the nectar points we have collected thru the year.
Hugs

I've just started my Xmas shopping for this year - I have 1 pressie so far and loads more to do.
I've cashed in my piggy points for some Boots vouchers - does anyone know when the 3 for 2s are likely to start - have figured out I can get most of my pressies from there for nothing.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I went into boots yesterday and it looks like they have already started the green label buy 3 get the cheepest free, they didn't have much out so possibly it was stock from last year.
Hope this helps

Thanks for that will pop in the local branch on Friday and have a look. Am determined to do my shopping on the high street this year it's far too easy to do it online and overspend. I might even use cash:eek: which really makes me think about what I'm spending.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I find it easier to do it online, there are only so many times I can get smacked with a bag/basket/trolley or just walked into before I have had enough - I use a wheelchair so it gets very frustrating.
I either use the debit card for noraml grocery/house shopping or my pre paid credit card for anythin else like dvd's or presents, means I have to put the money on the card before I can spend it.

One way we have decided to cut down is to be a little controversial and ask people what they want!
I've even found a website www.whatidlove.co.uk which we can make free online lists of presents. I'm hoping that by getting everyone to make a list I can then choose something under £20 and that way they get what they want, I don't spend loads of money on something that never sees the light of day, plus using their list and the site I should even be able to buy online, saving me the bother of braving the shops.
:T Check out the site - I've now got lists for both children, me and hubby, so if you fancy buying us something you know what to get us!!
Let me know how you get on,
