I have tried to stay away for as long as possible but alas.. I can not restrain myself anymore!
Had SO much fun last year with everyone here. Does anyone remember me? I am the nutter who put her decorations up on 31st October.

I saw Boots putting out christmas stock yesterday.. I am so excited! Anyone else want to come be a christmas nutter with me?

    Please?

    LOL Mel xx

Well, I've only just been able to start concentrating on Xmas savings due to spending my previous savings on doing the front garden, so I'm £600 down.

So, with 4 months to go:

    Bank acc: £350
    Tesco Stamps: £37
    Tesco vouchers: £88
    Spare change bank: approx £50

    14 gifts bought so far.

Not posted here for a while so a few changes have gone on - not all good ones. Dear tax man didn't think I was paying enough tax on my paltry pension so he's robbing me of a bit more  . I try to keep the two separate but some of the savings I've made towards Chrissie have had to go on birthdays.

As of today I have -
    £35 M & S vouchers
    £30 Argos voiuchers
    £20 Boots vouchers
    £60 in cashback sites
£30 Tesco stamps (£1 free when you save £49  )
    £5 Wilkinson stamps (£1 free when you save only £19 :D )
    11500 Nectar points

A couple of the herbs died  but most are doing well. Drying lots of bay leaves at the mo so they'll make a little extra something to pack up with the Christmas cards.

I bought a big roll of brown paper after reading on MSE about decorating it yourself and using it for wrapping pressies. Cost me £1.99 for 25 metres which will be more than enough as most peeps are getting above mentioned vouchers!

Still hunting down gifts in the charity shops and so far have a carrier bag full of new games/books etc for all the DGC..that's about it to date but with the 'generosity' :rotfl: of this government I shall have a further £200 to spend...not that we can depend on it, of course!

Hi sparrer!Could you tell me where you got the brown paper from, thats lots of wrap for £1.99,well done.
I have been nipping in to B&Q now and then for luxury wallpaper samples which I will use as lovely free wrapping paper for the adults presents but the decorated brown paper sounds ideal for the kids stuff.

Hi SLTBS, I got it in my local village Post Office, one of those amazing emporiums that sells everything from baking tins to brown wrapping paper. Woe betide the PO official who even thinks of closing our Post Office, it'll be war!

ps Congratulations on keeping your head on your wedding spend - went to one last year that cost as much as a house - what's all that about? We didn't play the 'anything you can do I can do better' game and my kids are still alive, and happily married :D

HMV HD dvd's from £2.99 I have just got the 1st 3 Harry Potter movies for £10.47 and don't forget quidco...although quidco doesn't seem to want to work for me so haven't bothered with it...
these are for me as I have just treated myself to a 20.1 inche laptop which has a HD Dvd player so I thought why not get some movies and see just how good it is...but for £10.47 you can't go wrong...
they also have normal dvd's from £2.99...
enjoy ding dong merrily on high...:xmassmile
