I'm so proud of my Mum, I've just found out she's collecting savers stamps from the milkman to pay for the turkey by spreading the cost.:j

I would also work out what you can realistically spend on Christmas this year and stick to it. You don't want to still be paying for Christmas in the New Year. I put my foot down that year and told our families that I wouldn't be cooking for them that Christmas. As it turned out I had to stay in hospital for a fortnight so I couldn't have cooked a Christmas lunch or tea anyway. The hospital did there best to make it feel like Christmas. We were given chocolates, mince pies and a glass of wine with our Christmas dinner. They also gave our babies a small gift - a cute homemade cardigan. If you are in over Christmas I would take plenty to keep you occupied as most people are home by Christmas morning. I had a whole bay of six beds to myself for 3 days between Christmas and New Year. Having said that my little girl will always be my best Christmas present.
I spent Christmas evening 2002 on the prenatal ward, it was empty as most had been allowed home for their dinner then had to come back at 8pm!Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -

Is that all
Am hoping to add to my pressie stash when a few things arrive in the post over the next week or so. Most of the bargains I have left are smelly related....but both of these are something different for a change.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -

Funny that, I just said the same :rotfl:
I've bought a few pressies in the sales as I have a birthday in November and 3 weeks after the event in January
I've never bought stuff in the sales before as I thought it would spoil the run up to xmas as I rather like that bit too. I'm not so daft now0 -

I thought this was in the true spirit of OS http://www.uwrapit.com.au/index.html
One way of trying to cut back on cost and waste.
If I can get my head round the technical side of things, I might try and make wrapping paper by using some of the kid's pictures and just copy and repeat them on the computer, that's if I ever get round to it!!!
All these good intentions, at least this thread has made me start thinking about the C word early enough.
Many thanks to all who are contributing, you really are truly motivating.0 -
Does anyone have any good ideas for HM presents for men please? I've had a good look around the threads here and alot of them seem very female orientated which is great for half the people I want to make for.
Particularly older men seem to be hard to even buy for generally as most seem to have everything they'll ever want.

what sort of interests katherine? and what age?
ive always said that girls are so much easier to buy for. there is an assumption that all men like sport and beer, and the boot really doesnt fit :rolleyes:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
