i used to play knock a door run.. it was the start of a downward spiral..
knock-a-door run, glue sniffing, cannabis, hard drugs, prostitution to pay for the drugs, car theft while high, armed robbery, extorsion and i'm currently awaiting trial for genicide and despotism
if only i'd played nicely when i was 60 -
Not forgetting people moaning about kids making noise.....................I know there are cases where gangs get out of order and obviously that is wrong, but people moan these days if little kids play out at the weekend cause they make kids noises

we were well planned when we did it, military precission.
3 of us, knocker, watcher and risk taker..
knocker knocked on the front door, watcher radioed through to risk taker when the door was opened and risk taker went through the back and stole their wallet / purse0 -
Love the idea of wiring it up to the mains S_G lol ;D
I haven't had this problem yet, *touch wood*. But l do get every years trick or treaters from about August until November - the crazy thing is l have never had any on the actual day.
More than anything it's just the local scum kids begging for sweets. I've never agreed with this whole American kick your kids out to beg for sweets from your neighbourhood thing - very dangerous and degrading.Sense is not common.0 -
talking to my dad about this yeterday, apparently where he grew up was a narrow road with houses down both sides (terraced), they had a ball of string and used to tie one end to the top house door handle, then criss cross across the road through door knockers till string ran out, then knock on first door and run, when the door was opened, all the knockers knocked. only downside he said was when doing it once, ran around the corner straight into a policeman, and got a thick ear for it. like he says though, wouldn't happen today. ;D0

Thought I had this problem a couple of weeks ago.
Doorbell would ring, no-one at the door.
Once it rang just as I was about to open it, again no-one there.
Then I realised that whenever I looked outside, there was someone at the door 6 houses down.
Ah, the joys of owning a cordless doorbell.
Open it up, change the channel number, no more problems.0 -

We used to call it Cherry Knocking. Why Cherries, dunno. Anyhow, was bloody good exercise. Kids don't get enough these days.
I sympathise with those who have had lives made misery over this though. Also, a reminder, its coming up to Halloween soon. So loads of kids doing Trick or Treat.
Either go out to the pub and don't come back till all kids in bed or go round a neighbours - they can have all the irritating little blighters.
My dog got totally freaked out one year by trick or treaters and chased some littleuns down the road. My they were sh*t scared. Very funny. And no, he doesn't bite, just excited.0 -
Isn't the knock on door and run away thing called knock down ginger?
Wonder how that strange name originated?0 -
Ohhh yes
innocent fun?
I have students (dormally drunk) knocking my door sometimes several times a night between 2 and 5am (thanks to the late night drinking law) and then running off.
Any ideas?0
