Sorry, I was guilty of this too except we called it 'Thunder and Lightning' (you knocked the door like thunder and then you ran like lightning). We had a few kids in the street that did it to us on a few nights, there was no way that I could run fast enough to catch the little blighters so I sent one of my dogs after them who cornered them into someones garden. As expected they were local kids and were apparently getting their own back because I would not lend them one of my computer games (well, what did they expect I was playing it at the time). You gotta laugh - ;D ;D ;D.
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
I've just noticed our washing line's broken ... but I think it was probably the chap who's hacking and slashing his way through our back jungle garden.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I never had this problem, up until a year ago i was living with parents who owned a shop which was open until 9pm so the door was always open, lol
Now though i just don't answer it, friends/family use the back door but thats because i'm a lazy sod more than anything

I played this too. We called it Bobby Knocking. Didn't do it to our OAP neighbours though as our Mothers would have killed us! Those were the days when kids were scared of their Moms :-X
Another great game was to put notes in peoples empty milk bottles for the Milkman saying things like "10 Extra pints today please" or even worse "No milk for the rest of the week please".

Why are you all finding this so funny?
It is a very annoying nuisance and can ruin any tranquility I get after a long day at work. This is one end of the antisocial behaviour spectrum and should be actively discouraged, not condoned. There are kids out there who think nicking a car, or kicking down a front wall etc is just a laugh. Dont laugh at this, condemn it. I have been a victim and never was a perpetrator.Gas doc on the loose0 -

It's usually one night a year ,is generally harmless fun and most kids do not go on to nicking cars from a prank of knocking a door and running away :-/Why are you all finding this so funny?

I didn't go onto stealing cars etc. It was just harmless, childish fun.
I feel sorry for kids now - you can't let them out into the street to play cos of all the cars etc. so they will never know the joy of Bobby Knocking or Kerbzie (throwing a football across the road to try and get it to rebound back to you) or playing with Knockers (remember those - two hard balls on string which were banned for hurting childrens wrist).
