Dehumidifier
are they any good for drying clothes, as i have been told they are a lot cheaper than using a tumble dryer, i was thinking if that was the case, i'd use one in the kitchen and dry the clothes on a clothes airier?
anyone here have one?
we do have a 'not sure whats it called' but its a type of air fan fitted in loft at the top of landing that moves/pushes the air around the house.0 -
We put our clothes on an airier next to the dehumidifier at night and the clothes are dry by morning0

I am not sure how much they cost to run but it is a lot cheaper than using a tumble dryer.
I have a ebac dehumidifer which has smart control so it knocks it self on and off to save energy.0 -

Thank you for all these comments. I am about to move into a private rental house.., and I have been warned by the landlord that it has had problems with black mould in the past. He is trying to rectify the cause (not sure what the cause is). He blames it on air circulation problems in the house and recommends leaving windows open. I'm not overly keen on that idea for security reasons and heat loss in the winter .., so am going to be looking for a dehumidifier.
Are there any updates on good buys. I am of limited income but will pay extra for a good quality economical to run one as long as its not running too high cost wise.0 -
hi
i need a dehumidifier for a small bedroom, although if i could get one which could be used for all 3 bedrooms it would be better. have looked at some on argos website but reviews say they are noisy. never had one before so don't know what level of noise to expect. the said bedroom walls run water when windows are shut even for short periods. can't be good for daughter's health. my budget is up to £200 although less than this would be great. want to get one now before winterFrump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Do a google search for "Desiccant Dehumidifier " . This type is almost silent.
