defrosting mince...

you can't really cook fresh mince you've frozen from frozen tho cause it would just be a big block, i don't really like the bags of frozen mince but i can see why people do it would be so easy to just cook it straight from the freezer
Sure you can... my mum did this all the time (once or twice a week)... but it takes FOREVER as you have to scrape the cooked parts off and try not to let the cooked parts burn. I really don't recommend it. I use the water method if I forget to remove it from the freezer in time.We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I just leave anything from the freezer out on the kitchen counter (still in it's packaging) to defrost on it's own for the day. By the time I cook tea about 5pm it's still cool but has no ice on it.
I'm also having lasagne tonight, yum!2013: Interflora Vouchers, Christmas Decorations, NNUK goody bag, thermos flask, macwet gloves0 -
I take it out the night before, defrost in the fridge, and then about 1hr on the work surface also (if needed).Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I personally wouldn't like to do that. Is it the time factory tomorrow that is a problem?
Someone will be along with a better suggestion.0 -

If I could find a decent frozen mince I would consider it, but anything I have found is yuck!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Why not cook the mince and make the sauce, leave in the fridge overnight and make the lasagna tomorrow. It only takes about 10 mins to make and 40 mins to cook. ( do you use fresh pasta? Its so much nicer)0

I often make lasagne ahead and cook the day i want to eat it - the ragu I use takes 3 hrs to cook so there no way I would make it from scratch in an evening!
So if I was having lasagne tomorrow - mince out before work today, make ragu this eve and either assemble lasange tonight and cook tomorrow or leave cooked ragu in fridge and make white sauce and assemble lasagne tomorrowPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
