Part of the Furniture 100 Posts Mortgage-free Glee!
May i add another option for passing on unwanted bits....local twins clubs. Twins are expensive in the nappy dept particularly, and as a mum of twins, am sure people would be more than grateful to buy at bargain prices!
Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞
  • Also....as a Mother of a 18month old....I certainly will not be buying £1 wipes from Netto to wipe his precious little bottom with!!!!!!!.

Maybe not the Netto ones but the ones at Asda currently on offer for less than a £1 (£5 for 6 packs) are really very good and a great deal too.

So like you said only a good offer if you need to build up your points.
:j Go on, shake your money maker! :j
  • I missed out on the beef in gravy thing but do have 180 bottles of Johnson's talc sitting in boxes in my attic and a whole load of huggies nappies too. Being a single bloke with no kids, I'm just collecting all this stuff for no reason!

If you don't have any use for the talc and nappies, perhaps you could find a suitable charity to donate it to. It could be put to good use and you got your points. Everyone's a winner!

Do you think tesco will ever start selling babies?

Until they do, being a single bloke with no kids, I'm just collecting all this stuff for no reason!
    ;-)

If you aren't going to use them yourself, then you should either give them away to someone in need (plenty of obvious charities - NCT, SureStart, NCH etc or contact the midwife at your GPs surgery) but as an MSEr you should put them on ebay then a new parent will get a bargain and you will get something back on your investment.

  • Or put them up for sale on sites like:

    friday-ad.co.uk
    trade-it.co.uk
    tapthat.co.uk
    gumtree.co.uk

    etc.

These sites mean that you can name your price and the buyer, being local, can collect them, saving you even having to go to the postoffice!

Why don't you sell them on ebay (half price listing day tomorrow) or in a car boot sale?

The real "value" of points is about 2x. I wouldn't consider points at the full 4x value because you can buy points/vouchers at the value of 2x to the point. Thus, you aren't really making money here.

The market value of 100 points is £2, so you are effectively getting £2 off a £3 spend. Plus, there is time involved with doing point conversions or selling points, so it's £2 + effort on your part.

Not to down this deal, but just note that it's not like you're automatically earning £1 each time you do this.

At last! Someone with some common sense! There is no 'profit' in the true sense of thw word to be made here. Even though you can exchange them for 4 times the face value they are not *worth* 4 times the face value unless you use your quadrupled points to buy one of the deals which you would have bought anyhow even if you had not been collecting clubcard points.

If you buy Johnson's baby wipes anyhow then yes it's a useful deal, but there isn't a £1 profit per pack to be made.

I still think that the Tesco clubcard points system is the best out of all these schemes. I used to collect boots points but it took forever to build up enough to redeem them and my boots bill was always so much more than shopping in places like Savers or Superdrug. But with Tesco i colelct points really quickly just by doing my shop and you don't need that many to get things from the deals. I got an annual subscription for £9 worth of club card points instead of paying £36 for it and loads of other stuff too! Brilliant

Ebay or boot sell them get some money back
  • i have a toddler and would buy them anyway - cheap wipes don't seem to suit us.

if you're in the baby club the wipes vouchers for buying huggies etc. work when you buy johnsons. i read about that on paidtoshop last week.
