    YAY! :D

For the first time since we've had to drastically cut our budget Mr Thrift and I have actually managed to stay within it.......

Budget for July was £82, we spent.........£81.90! :D

Budget for August will be £90, and I've forecast we *should* spend only £83, so we should have another in-budget month, hurrah!
  • It's hard isn't it! We still buy nappies (for nights) for both of them but do try to buy when on offer (Tescos normally have pampers on offer- Active Fit are the only ones we've found that don't leak!) If you buy disposable for 2 kids day and night you're looking at around £30+ per month just for those.

We have a nearly three year old in nappies at night and a seven month old. If you're spending £30 a month  on nappies I have a tip. We have three night nappies for my son - I wash her nappies every other day, so it's not a problem. Each of these nappies cost £10 but that was two years ago now. I stuff them with a terry nappy which I've had since he was tiny, so they last through the night. Working on the cost of a pack of active fit from tescos (8.99 for 46) and assuming on only one per night, if I'd only bought these six months ago when he night trained, these would have saved me forty pounds by now. I shudder to think how much I would have spent on nappies if we hadn't used cloth!
