  • How about making a chilli instead of bolognaise in the slow cooker and having a buffet table with nachos, HM cornbread (I like it with chilli and cheese in!), guacamole, salsa, salsa, grated cheese?

    :D Goooooood Evening fellow OS'ers :D:D:D

Haven't had the time to read through all the thread (sorry :o ) time is at a premium and by the time I've answered PM's and tried to catch up at this time of day, it's all so overwhelming!

((hugs)) for those who are feeling below par - that much is always heartfelt as being unwell/poorly is the absolute pits! (And isn't there just so much going around these past months? Flu's, norovirus, by this time of year there is also SAD! So much to cope with/be vulnerable to/need recouperation from!)

My day has gone brilliantly :D:D:D All of us had delicious, tasty, well balanced lunches and evening meal - that makes me happy! A worthwhile investment in our longevity and health ;)

It's been a very (academically) productive day and despite not much of MSE consequence happening worthy of note, I had the flattering feedback from a dfriend who has embraced certain aspects of OS'ing and wanted to share them with me :) I am sooooo proud of her! Despite all her obstacles throughout the past year, but most especially in latter months, she hears things I say and thinks to herself "I can do that!" .. then, without me knowing, she impliments them and then proudly says to me: "I did this! I did THAT!" and I think, "Aww, bless her heart! She's really evolving!" And it's all to HER benefit (bonus! Or should I say, wise woman ;) ) :rotfl:

I'm sooooooo excited tonight, I'm finding it hard to settle :D I am meeting up with another, very special, friend tomorrow, who I haven't seen in aaaaaagggggeeeesssss, and can't wait to see her beautiful face and enjoy a good gab :D She's got such a brilliant sense of humour, she is a real tonic! So, no OS'ing AT ALL tomorrow, just good old fashioned girlie stuff :D

Have a gathering coming on Saturday (9 of us) and need to plan the eats and drinks - so far I've come up with a SC full of bolognaise sauce and utilising the BM to make a special loaf (the HM bread alone will thrill one of them! LOL ) but I'm not sure what else to put out on the buffet table - any (serious and moneysaving) suggestions gratefully received ;)

Have a great (remaining!) MSTuesday to one and all :D:D:D

What an amazing day Queenie. Have a great day tomorrow with your mate. Hugs

  • Evening all

First chance of posting since the crack of dawn yesterday, as internet was up the spout. OH eventually got round to fixing it and then hogged it for three hours.

Hope all those who feel rough get better soon. I've managed to study quite a lot today. Also had to take cats to vets for jabs and a check-up. Big cat has got rotten teeth so he has been booked in to get them sorted. Hopefully it won't be too grim as I have a payment plan that gives me 20% off.

Weather is still grim here. Off to make cauliflower cheese and wedges:D .

Have a good evening all :A xxxx

    Poor lamb! ((hugs))
I sprained my ankle (many, many, many, many ... okay, you get the picture :rotfl: moons ago) and the advice, as I recall, was one week. BUT, do not take anyone's word for it on here! (Not allowed to give medi advice ;) ) DO phone either a) the school nurse tomorrow to reiterate her advice or b) NHS Direct if you really need an answer immediately. Hope she heals speedily!

  • Make it mild and put a bottle of Tabasco on the table! That way everybody can eat it.
  • Hello All

Well, internet still dodgy at work. I did catch up on a bit of what is going on.

Mol - well can you believe it, my DGS1 5 on 23rd too!

Cats - please keep an eye on your health and know when to go.

Odds - - hope everything went well today

PenPin - sorry your health not too good at the moment and thanks for the fantastic advice re Ebay. I have only bought but your seller's tips fantastic.

Aussie - friend's daughter did Melbourne and then Cairns area! She said you aussie folk great!!!!!!!!!!!! I can remember when you were preparing to come over here for your visit and I do know I loved to hear about your time in Scotland.

DLB - hope the smoking clinic went well. I stopped when DGS1 was born (I was given a week's grace as 3 week's early). I have had one or two since but it has not led to the 30 a day habit I had!

Sorry to hear about everyone else's illnesses today - there is a lot going round.

Think I have finally sorted out the kitchen planning. Now doing decluttering big style. Loads of excess mugs going in to work tomorrow. I actually feel quite scared about whole experience - is this normal?

Sorry I haven't mentioned anyone else but I do think about you all.

Managed to make a Welsh Bara Brith loaf from my new baking book it is sooooo yummy, unfortunately have got my slimming world weigh in tomorrow:eek: Hope you all have a good evening.

Just when I thought my day had gone so well...............dinner was all prepared, oven switched on to preheat so it would all be ready on the table when OH came in...................not so !! Fan assisted oven decided not to be fan assisted anymore so my cooking time went right out of the window and when OH came in I was huffing and puffing and apologising for it not being done.
OH inspects oven...........oh dear..........not sure whether the fan needs de-greasing or replacing - OH wacks temperature up -full on and fan starts to work !!!! So, he's going to spray some degreasing stuff on and told me to switch it on high before I put dinner in tommorow...............must remember to do that otherwise we'll be having dinner at bedtime................lol
Unless I just do egg sausage and chips...............leave the oven alone..........lol
    Mary

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
