Queenie- I just made a cornbread topping for my chilli for tonights tea and it was delish. I'm sure you could cook it as muffins for your dinner party. It was 1 cup cormeal, 1 cup plain flour, 1 cup milk, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp salt, a very good sized handful of defrosted sweetcorn, 1 cup grated cheddar, a finely sliced bunch of spring onions, an egg and 4 tbsp veg oil (I also added a very good shake of Tabasco, but leave it out if you have kids eating as well). Mixed up and put it in muffin tins. Sprinkle with cheese before putting it in the oven at 200'C for about 20 minutes.0

Hi everyone. Girls and I have had our roast lamb dinner and it was absolutely delish!!! Played a couple of games with girls. They've gone up to bed, v o l u n t a r i l y...??? almost fell off my seat with shock!!! Apparently eldest DD has an exam tomorrow so she is 'cramming' and because she set the example, she was duly followed. I've put dw on. OH has just come in from work and i nuked his in microwave and he is eating it now. so I thought while I have a few minutes to myself I'l just catch up on here.

Night all,
Busy day as I had three lots of visitors...each just as I was about to do something OS and MSE...anyway, we had a nice dinner of ham, turnip, greens and mash...apple for pudding.
Just been to CAB with friend for legal advice re DNA test that father of baby wants...advice was, take your time and make decision based on welfare of baby as you see it, do not be rushed into anything, just register birth, get CB application done and see how you feel if DNA comes up.
Tired now, seem to have been on the go all day and I feel it, bed soon

Hello everybody :hello:
freyaluck - welcome back - I didn't read yesterday's posts until just now so big congratulations on your engagement!
Shez - funny that you've been cooking moussaka - me too! A veggie recipe off another site. I'm just in the middle of eating it now.
I had "one of those days" at work - not a bad one, just a headless-chicken one. I'm going on a course tomorrow and Thursday, so needed to finish loads of things off today. Just when I thought I was finally getting it under control, I found out that the main report I produce, which is incredibly important, had been mixed up in delivery, and the person who was meant to receive one copy had received nine, and vice versa  so spent half the afternoon on the phone to the printers getting them to send a courier out to pick up the larger delivery and take it to the right place
Found out today that one of my neighbours has had a baby boy :j

Well, Aussie Andy was - sh't. For some reason I don't quite connect with him so don't feel too bothered. How is DH and mouth - saw he was back at work. Hope he is OK.
No New Year sherry (or smoking!) but have been in that blooming loft regularly!

Who is Aussie Andy?? DH mouth good but rain has kept him home a bit longer. Lucky we don't have a loft.
Sounds a tiring day Rzl. Hope you have a restful sleep.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
I may be wrong but I think Granny needed a comma in there as in Aussie, Andy was..... Think she means Andy Murray the Scottish tennis player, went out first round;)You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
