I'm assuming it's vague because some people like a dark chocolatey muffin, and some people might like it sweeter, and possibly more cocoa means you need more milk? The recipes in this book are quite reliable though, so at a guess I'd say most eventualities are covered and whatever you use should work
I took the scientific approach, as usual, and went for exactly in the middle. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Actually, I decided it was much too hard all by myself, before I saw the post!
Anyway, it is lumpy:
and these are in:
The white stuff's just a bit of spray-on bake-easy coz someone said that they can stick a bit the first time.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I'm nervous now, I feel kind of responsible ... Can't wait to see the finished items!0

How do I make them cool down really quickly so I can get the next lot in?
It's too late to be doing all this....If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Oooh, looks good - best way I can think of to cool things fast is to open the window and put the tray near it, so the cold air will cool the muffins. When they've cooled a bit, put them on a cooling rack (or anything you've got that will let the air circulate) and put the next lot in0

Well, the silicon seems to have cooled enough for me to get them out, and the next 6 are in! :j
Thanks very much Gingernutmeg, they look great. I will report on how they taste a bit later! :drool:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Well that was great! Past my bedtime, but I do have 11 muffins to take to work tomorrow. Next time I will re-grease the tin before I put the second batch on, as three of them stuck and are now missing some off the bottom.
One of them accidentally got eaten.
Fabulous! I'm well chuffed! Thanks to all who helped. :TIf you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
