Cheers Ginge....believe it or not, I've actually got all the ingredients! (Except baking powder, but I've got SR flour, so don't need it!) :jIf you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

Hmmm....how do I get half an egg?If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

Well, you see I'd not halve a recipe that calls for one egg:D But given that you want to, I'd guess beat it, then you should be able to measure it better. Maybe measure how many spoonfulls you get. Am I helping or making it worse:rotfl: :rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

Use a whole egg and reduce the milk by a bit

See how much it is in a liquid measure, and then half that?
Not sure that this would be entirely successful though, as eggs also help with raising - maybe put the whole one in and a bit less milk?0 -

Well someone has to:rotfl: Actually someone should mention that many recipes just don't work halved, no matter how precisely it's done. Twinks *twinks* come to mind;)You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

You're absolutely right. I mean, look at this:
110-170g granulated sugar
240-260ml milk
3-5 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Well, how much is it then?No wonder us poor blokes can't cook. This sort of thing is designed to make us fail.
Anyway, I decided that halving the recipe was too difficult, so I'm going to make 2 batches. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

I did notice that as I was typing it lol ... I'm assuming it's vague because some people like a dark chocolatey muffin, and some people might like it sweeter, and possibly more cocoa means you need more milk? The recipes in this book are quite reliable though, so at a guess I'd say most eventualities are covered and whatever you use should work0
