Apart from anything else, wouldn't it restrict the baby's skull from developing properly if you left one of these on for any length of time? And if it isn't tight enough to do that, won't it fall down over their eyes all the time?
Can't see the point, myself ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
feathery hats?i mean those big silly white hats with feathers and bows and ribbons on them, cant find a picture to show you.
no defenetly not putting one on now, TOTALLY gone off them.my baby sophie who is 10 weeks now IS absolutly georgeous and doesnt need anything to say she is a little girl ive decided, although that picture with the baby with the hat on wasnt what i was on about, simalar but the ones i was on about were alot more dainty than that.
i dont think they would do any harm to the babys head either, you wouldnt leave them on all day, and you wouldnt buy anything that was tight or too small.appreciate what you have got x0 -

I'm sure she's a beautiful little angel :A
Belated congrats by the way! :T"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
What a great thread this is... had me in stitches!!! My little girl had a head band when she was one - not one of those thick ones though, just a little thin Winnie the Pooh one. BUT it was to stop her looking like Barry Evans - she had a really fine fringey bit at the front and then it went long on top and quiffed back into curls. I had to put one on her to try and flatten it down on top. It definitely wasn't one of those cringey American type ones. Still giggling now - it was the Easter Egg comment that did it!!!Accepted offer on our house - Sept 2006

Where I grew up in Liverpool, loads of people wore those silly hats, there's even a stall in the shopping precinct that still sells that type of thing now.
I agree they don't do any harm,
I must admit I did also try fimbles one on my 10 week old, I didn't learn from my first daughter, I just couldn't resist seeing what she would look like (very silly).WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
Awww scooper, you made the right choice
I WISH I could put something on my 18 month olds head to keep her hair out of her eyes. She won't wear alice bands, clips, bobbles....anything!!! Her fringe is halfway down her nose but I want it to grow long so I'm not cutting it. Maybe I should glue it out of the wayJust run, run and keep on running!0 -
just thought im quite amused of the response i got from this question, its baaen funny to hear other peoples views!
plus i feel quite embaresessd that i was going to put one on sophie, but relieved that i never!!hahahaappreciate what you have got x0 -
Have you tried MotherCare?
Although I'm inclined to agree with the "don't do it" gang, why do you want your poor baby to look like her head has been wrapped up as a gift?!ElvenPrincess :A say's "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil"0 -
