Hi Pixie - not sure how big you are but Weight Loss Resources has given me 1,760 per day and I am currently 20stone 7.5 pounds, and this is to lose weight at one pound per week.

Pixie/Dragon I just signed up to foodfocus to have a look at this, and it spat this at me

" and you would like to achieve this at a rate of 1.5lb (0.7kg) per week.

To achieve this, your daily Net Calorie target is 2132 calories over this period. (Net Calories are the calories you eat minus the calories you burn by exercising)"

...... that's based on me weighing 15st 13 at the mo, so 1900 looks quite low compared to this.

Raphael, it happens mate. Fluctuations etc. I can virtually guarantee that if you stick with it this week, you will have a fantastic result next week. Scout's honour!!

Bails, I don't think you have anything to lose by appealing? I thought my self-employed status might get in the way of getting a new stooze card, but I applied for one at the same institution where I hold a lot of my savings - don't know if that made a difference.

I've done my sums this afternoon and I think I can expect to make about £75 over 12 months, which is small compared to some, but my spending is very low and as it's my first stooze I want to keep it simple!

    Yes ajax i was. Ha.

You gotta look after the youngens, theyre going to be keeping you alive when your old and decrepid!
  • Anyway, If anyone has a case study on how ground zero is becoming a tourist attraction that would be grand :)

Nope, too busy writing about why the VW Beetle is an "iconic design"... Pointing out that they were mass-produced and seem to run forever doesn't appear to be enough!

Ajax - Thats the plan! I'll prob leave it a few weeks, then if it's not working for me I'll fiddle around with it later... Dragon, I weigh 17st, but I'm aiming for 2lbs a week (that way, when I only lose 1lb, I won't sulk too much ;), so I guess it does all make sense, me and a friend at uni spent most of the morning debating whether the course we do counts as "lightly active" or "moderatly active". In the end, we went for moderatly - I spend most of the day running around a workshop dragging toolbox/materials around and wandering back and forwards between different workshops. Couldn't make life easy by having all the useful stuff in the same room... Or even the same floor!

    GAH!!!

    How?! Why?!

I have been so good all week, tons of fruit & salad, and I have GAINED!!

I have put on 0.2 lbs, I know it's only small but I'm so annoyed, I thought I'd have lost at least 1 lb. Ahhh!

Hugs Raph - not sure what happened (too much F&V in the gut maybe?) - but hopefully you will have a really good loss next week to compensate
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

    .....that'll be September then :(

Pixie I'm sure it will work out fine for you, and will be spot on. It's just the thought of calorie counting that scares me, it's too hard. Trying to count everything that goes into your mouth seems impossible to me, and I'm sure Jenna Jameson would agree.

Raph: perhaps you didnt eat often enough. I know that if you dont keep eating often enough, when you do it your body will store this as fat as it doesnt know where the next meal will be. A little survival strategy the body has.

    Perhaps thats a reason?
