Have you spoken to the facilities manager where you are to ask them how they got into it? Might give you some clues. You could offer to help out a bit, or ask him if you can shadow him on one of your days off.0 -
Depends on your region. IT is an in demand skill hence salaries are a lot higher.
What do you mean by business? You mean a CEO or director? Those below certainly can be on a lot less. In those places you get promoted and recruited based on track record, not having a degree you know.
Don't tell Phil that. IT is over-rated. You need very specific skills and experience and some luck.
I've been in IT 20 years, done most things. I am not working at the moment.0 -
No he is not lying, he has the difficulty - the difficulty of not wanting to think for himself and just asking for advice on the simplest things. If he can get out of bed and go to uni and get a philosophy degree, then he can work out how to ask to have a £20 note changed.0

I was gonna offer some good advice, and then I saw this and it made me laugh. Why have I never realised how hilarious SP's threads are before?
Anyway Phil, if you can stop rolling about on the floor you could try volunteering at your local Citizens Advice Bureau. I do admin there, so I'm getting office experience, and it's great. You could also ask their advisors about your CV, how to get jobs/interviews etc.
That is a really good idea!!:beer:0 -

I think most of them did it from being clerks and admin staff. I will look into it more as it really interests me.:beer:0
