    Here's hoping.

It's the big day, I feel sick but have made it into work. I'm going to speak to my boss and depending what the garage say I will try and book this afternoon off as holiday. My stress levels can't cope at the moment (long history of stress and depression :o)

The garage openned 10 mins ago so I am now waiting. OH wants me to ring him as depending on what they say he may be able to get it cheaper. I eventually got to sleep last night, but I am very tried today so it's going to be tough to keep my emotions under control. I'm going to explain it all to a girl I work with so she can look after me if needed!!!

    Thanks, I'll keep you posted

    xx

  • Mine went just before Xmas. Unfortunely it was worst case for me and cost £1100.

The valves were bent up which was the killer for me and teh lobour costs were crazy.
I was stationery but kept turning it over(as you do) and thats whats did the damage If the belt has actually snapped there will almost certainly be further damage.

Hope its not too bad. I feel your pain, believe me.

When people recommend you get a cam belt change when you buy a car then DO IT!! It's easier to find £200 then £1200. If only i'd listened. hey ho.

I guess I will also need to see if the car is worth more than the repair in that case. If not I will have to try and get rid of it, although as it's my first car I have no idea how to do that.

  • Its a tough you have to wiegh up the cost, value of car, mileage etc. but it's worthless broken. that was my take on it anyway.

Anyway enough of this negative talk, it will not be as bad as you thought.

I know, I just hate waiting, I am wondering whether to call them or wait until lunchtime.
