Me and OH have just spoken to the garage (OH is happy with it) and my engine is fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:j :T :rotfl:
Nothing needed doing to the engine, I have a new cam belt and tensioner and my total bill is £338.46p!! I can pick up up tonight. Which means I can afford her
Very relieved as I am sure you can imagine. Will be taking very good care of her from now on.
Just spoken to Mum who is going to pay the £138.00 for me and I will pay the £200 and as I am paid on Friday I will be ok for the rest of the week :TCurrent debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Nothing like a bit of window shopping to take your mind off your troubles.... Edit: oh wow great news, so chuffed for you!!!
But still............
How's the back, have you taken an ibuprofen or something to release the tension, it's probably a little bit of muscle spasm caused by the stress.
Take something to sort it out now, as long term spasm isn't good.... and i don't want your car fixed but you with a bad back and not able to drive.I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Aww that's fantastic news!!!!!! Soooooo happy for you!!! :T:T:T:TTotal 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

The valves were bent up which was the killer for me and teh lobour costs were crazy.
I was stationery but kept turning it over(as you do) and thats whats did the damage If the belt has actually snapped there will almost certainly be further damage.
Hope its not too bad. I feel your pain, believe me.
When people recommend you get a cam belt change when you buy a car then DO IT!! It's easier to find £200 then £1200. If only i'd listened. hey ho.
Same thing happened to me, same time, same amount. The local main dealer who "mended" it missed a leaking radiator and left a hose unclipped so it broke down again with days, they had it back and it broke down again.
It's been sorted somewhere else now and I will be asking the first place for refund as they have been negligent. If no joy then trading standards, report them to the UK head office and off to small claims court.0 -
thanks
It's a problem I have had for about 5 years, I've been to the hospital about it and my spine isn't held by the ligaments properly so my muscles have to help out and of course when you are stressed you tense up, which is what makes my back hurt. I slipped a disc because of it in 2004 and have had to be careful ever since.
I've taken extra strong paracetamol and have some pescription pain killers and anti inflamitories at home (and on repeat) so I am all set!
I'm so happy, and tired and I want chocolate!!! (to celebrate of course :rotfl:)Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!
Not a scary car anymore!!!
I am soooooooooooooooo pleased for you!! Brilliant news.
Now take care of yourself and RELAX a little to help your back!!0 -
Now that all is sorted, what lessons can be learned from the experience (sorry, i'm in super manager mode for a minute
):
Lesson 1: I would say, (if possible) always put away an amount each month to cover car stuff - I put £75 a month away and this covers repairs, MOT, tax, insurnace... I do as many repairs as I can myself though and uncle is a mechanic so get good rates for bigger stuff, so £75 might not be enough for everyone...
Lesson 2: If you can afford to do the above, then hopefully you'll also be able to afford to build a small contingency (in HISA) as the above won't always be enough to cover major blow outs.... hopefully you never need it and can put it towards a nice new car eventually... This can also double as a contingency for other stuff like big house problems...0
