    evening all

well, i'm moved! all went very well, i'm so grateful to my dad for forking out for it!! the removal guys were great and i set off before them and left them to finish it. will feel odd to go back to an empty flat on wed/thurs. as far as i know nothing got broken and the only issue was that the big sofa wouldn't fit along the passage to the lounge!!! to be honest i wasn't too sad as we were going to get a new one in a couple of months anyway. it's now sitting in the hallway waiting to be collected by a friend who works for a charity place. i cleaned and unpacked the kitchen, and hung up my clothes and tonight OH put the new bed together.

anyway, off to catch up with the thread and then will be ready for my bed.

rach happy new home :) how exciting!!! Wishing you both every happiness. Bit of a shame about the sofa not getting through, we had to take ours over the garden fence  and through the back double doors. Might be worth double checking the new ones will fit through.
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Wow yet another late night :o Just wanted to say thanks again to all birthday wishes for my 15yo daughter  she had a great day, great presents (am taking her on train to see a band in concert, plus a stay in a posh hotel - she had the tickets to unwrap :) ) and lots of other bits that she loved.

One piece of bad news though, we need a new telly :( The volume control has broken, can't change it by remote or manually, and can't change tv channels except on the tv itself, which won't let us get to the extension channel that the Wii or the DVD player play on. It's been threatening for about a year with the screen going all red at times or all green tones. So I'm in the market for a new one, looks like nowhere does 28" televisions any more, so it will have to be 32" by the look of it, or downsize to 26". Oh well, will look some more, maybe find a good deal. If anyone knows of any good deals please pass them on!

oooh well chuffed, I did almost everything I meant to today, and most of tomorrow's as well, as I am going into work tomorrow. Have to sign new contract as we got taken over last year, they are suspiciously giving an incentive of 7% base salary when you sign so presumably there's some nasty surprise (I have heard rumours of on-call rota - sod that) but 7% would be nice.
Still, a day minus any children - sounds like heaven!

I have read up to 11am today but now I give up. Maybe I can catch up tomorrow at work :)

Pigpen I ended up buying bread rolls today aswell because it was cheaper than making them. Unfortunately it took some squeezing into the freezer because I bought 8 packs, there wasn't much room to start with. I have had to rejig some space, because the door kept popping open :o like you say for the savings it's worth it....saves on time/effort too...

I should be in bed really but sat here eating profiteroles instead, another bargain (1/4 of the price) but feeling rather guilty as I have just decided my weight loss target....loose 30lbs before I am 30....scary thought.
One day I might be more organised...........

we replaced my dads one in December, one of the big back ones. If you are buying now, you should still get one, but they probably only have one per shop - comets and argos do them, for IRO £180, or try your local Woolworths, this is where we eventually got ours for £160
    Hope this helps - lilo

I didn't do anything last night as I was just too tired. Have done washingup and laundry this morning, and will catch up on Monday and Tuesday list when I'm back from work tonight AND see if I can get a headstart on Wednesday. Delegating washing kitchen floor and dinner to DH as it's salmon and veg; even he can do that!
