Happy birthday Holly and Pigpen’s middle son. Have a fab day!

AnW’s mum – depending on how much time you have Lakeland do a train cake tin which you might be able to make look like Thomas. Yikes, just got the link and it’s pricey

Thanks pigpen that is fantastic :) but like you say  on the prices. Found one that is similar at tescos, not as good but a train shaped one at least and a fraction of the price! Just rung Dad as he works near the big Mr T's so will get him to keep an eye out closer to and pick one up when it has the right date on it.

Lil_me I'll join you on a HHC, probably be HHI again! But probably won't be able to start until this afternoon as I need to finish parcelling these ebay sales and get them in the post before I go to blood donors. Need to fill in the medical form before I go as well. Mmmm perhaps I should have a snack as well.....

  • Happy birthday hollyh and pigpen's 12 yo!
we replaced my dads one in December, one of the big back ones. If you are buying now, you should still get one, but they probably only have one per shop - comets and argos do them, for IRO £180, or try your local Woolworths, this is where we eventually got ours for £160
    Hope this helps - lilo
Thanks Lilo - I was also thinking maybe just getting the old fashioned type might be best for us. While I'd like one that takes up less room, I'm really not bothered about all the 'HD ready' stuff and am certainly not going to pay through the nose just to get a decent picture (and some of the cheaper LCD or plasma type screens look a bit naff) when the old type always served us well. I'll check the ones in shops then see if I can get one we like cheaper online most likely.

Witchypoo – with any luck you’ll still be able to pick up a tv in the sales. Try to get it through a cash back site though!
Oo yes that would be a good thing! I'm with pigsback, quidco and now ipoints so between those I'm sure to find a good deal once I know the model I want. Oo and well done doing all your list already! Hope kitty is healing well.

Right - I've been slacking these past few days so I am up for a HHC at 10:30 till 11am! I'll just get some clothes on first :o lol
    see you at 11!

    • Using the idea Shirley suggested (where is she anyway?), get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be. You could delegate and give everyone their own misplaced things to deal with :D

Morning everyone- This thread grows faster than I can read.
Off to make to do list over cup of coffee. Might tackle windows if it stops pouring with rain - did glass door inside instead.

Happy birthday to Holly and Pigpen's DS. Its my DS3 'sbirthday tomorrow- . I'm hoping he just wants brownies like the other boys.

he has choosen his birthday meal - peking duck(!) with all the trimmings so I'm going to give that a go tomorrow- wish me luck! It will be cheaper than a CHinese meal for 6 out at a etaurant/tke-away which was his other suggestion. Sadly not possibel as post-Chirstams cash flow not so good. Perhaps I shodul put ebay listing on my to-do list. After pigpen bullied us when she was in charge I sold all sorts of stufff and made about £150 and my older 2 DS smade £70 !(thanks again!)

Any advice about getting red wine out of a jumper?

Is that a lakeland code? That is a fab offer if it is?

Right dalies done, floors hoovered and mopped and sofa in family room hoovered. Not started living room. Going to spend 15 minutes on my wardrobe as there might be a couple of things I can ebay. Thursday I am going to start listing so somebody please be around to help me as I have forgotten what to do.
