Does anyone know the sort code for A&L Direct ISA (issue 2)? or where to find it?

    It's 72-58-10. See:

That is what confused me! I had seen that page, but I think 72-58-10 is just the sort code of a branch holding (temporarily) money coming in before releasing it to all internal ISA accounts and not to be used for transfer outs (as in this case).

At the end looking for general descriptions of the IBAN I see it contains the A&L sort code for Direct Saver accounts. From it it should really be 72-00-00.

H i Alex, I have not contacted YBS as it clearly stated on my welcome letter from the YBS,
"For Transfers to your account please use the Following details"
    Bank sort code: 60-92-04
Account Number(first 8 digits of your account)

I'm sure if there are any "probs" ;)Icesave will contact me.
I agree its sometimes a little confusing, but I think most banks use 8 digit account Numbers.

The details will just get passed straight to YBS. I'd have thought the full account number would be preferable, but I'm sure they'll be able to identify you from your NI number and partial account number.

Do you need a sort code? I transferred my A&L ISA last year without one.

It's just the Icesave transfer in form asks for your bank account no and sort code, which is a pain as some providers do not have one.

I'd leave it blank rather than get it wrong.

*nods* I actually wrote everything I had in there for NS&I (sort code, NS&I number, account number) and included an explanatory note...possibly a bit overkill ;)

    Hi,
Just to confirm what others have said about sort code: I contacted Stafford Railways BS (my present provider) and they say they don't use the sort code and should leave it blank. The account number is enough for them.

Couple of questions about the Icesave ISA - not had an ISA before, can you pay in on a monthly basis or does it have to be a lump sum? Also can you have a maxi and a mini one or do you have to choose? (I see Icesave only do the Mini one) - If so, is there a list of the best performing maxi ISAs? Last question, how do you get the tax back or is that included in the 6.1% rate?
