BMSGuy wrote:And this was definitely Amway was it?
There were lots of weird stories from the early seventies. People would get invited for all sorts of reasons and end up seeing the Amway Sales and Marketing plan.
Not very professional by todays standards, however, your impression of Amway is dependant upon how you were invited and how the business was positioned to you.
This business is a very effective tool. A tool for generating money but with all tools you need to use them and be trained in the effective use of them.
I respect, that because of how you saw the presentation, you don't rate the business as serious and that is fair enough but how long ago did you see it? You would hardly recognise now.
Just as something to think about......
BT, nPower, Evesham Technology, MBNA, Shop.com, H&H Bancroft, Disney, Carphone Warehouse, Talk Talk and many other businesses have chosen to partner with Amway in the UK via the Amivo web portal. They obviously think that Amway are a serious business.
Whilst the person that showed you the business might have been "a load of old poop" I am sure that you will agree that major corporations, such as the ones that I have listed above, wouldn't partner with a business that was a "load of old poop" would they?
After all they probably know a lot more about business than you or I do and their reputations are worth millions.....just a thought.
Anthillmob isn't that old, she may of been born in the 70's but wasn't old enough to buy a business0 -

lots of great accounts, including former big players exposing the scams
Basically if you want to know more do a google for amway and scam - and fill your boots!!!!!!!
Thank you for posting this, the video is quite an eye opener and no one can argue with that. It reminds me of the religious cults for the 70's where they prayed on the desperate just to take from them and destroy their own minds . I hope your post helps many posters on here to avoid this trap. thing is though you will always find some who will support things such as this, i just hope their eyes are not suddenly opened as cruelly as this video shows.:)0 -
Remember that businesses such as Amway operate in countries like India where people can ill afford it and where questionable tactics are used to recruit people. THey even have billboards over there advertising AMway, making it look like a way out, stark contrast against the dust, drout and poverty around them. It was all over the news earlier this month when I was in India. I believe the Indian government are investigating.
BTW I think if I had been conned out of a large amount of money I hope I would notice before the amount got to 50k :rolleyes:Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I have met many people like you in my time in the business.
Ill informed, big mouthed and over opinionated.
You quote chapter and verse other peoples lies and dis-information.
You have nothing new to add to the debate.
Your knowledge of both products and marketing are pitifully small.
I doubt that you have ever used a product from any mlm and if you did I doubt that you would have the intelligence to compare the results.
Have you ever calculated a cost per use?
Probably not as it requires basic math skills.
Use a cheapo and use less of it! what a !!!!!! you are.
You must stink like a pig.
I am so sorry for your other half having to put up with you.
Praying on the fears of others, what a pratt you are.
I leave samples with prospective customers and they try it.
Then they buy.
No arm twisting just the experiance of something they like.
So all my customers are stupid? In fear? Grow up you idiot.
By some scrub balls, even cheaper, you don't need to use washing powder with them oh and your clothes smell lovely and fresh, brill for those with Eczema no irritation. scientifically proven too on all counts:)0 -
BMSGuy wrote:2. Reputable water companies do pump crap into our mains. They, by law, have to maintain an average minimum standard. Any analysis of "drinking" water will show up viruses, bacteria, phosphates, chlorine, and thousands of other pollutants. Infants and people with lowered immune systems are warned against tap water. So for many the water is safe but that is because we have built up immunity.
3. Vitamins. I didn't say they were essential. They are a suppliment to help us in our modern lives. Most of us eat poorly and supplimentation can help. But it is a choice. Are our vitamins more expensive than the real competition?
.
Your first point. I have a lowered immune system, due to disability, I checked this point with my GP and Phonned the consultant, this being the reson i have not posted on this before, both said rubbish to your statement.
The second point is that the government are capping the sales of vitamins and minerals so within the next approx. 5 years there is a very good chance you will not be able to sell these as excessive use is harmful, we get enough in our food, scurvey is very rare in 1st world countries today. Or do they forget to give this information when you, are I will be polite, trained?
You have scare mongered here and you need i feel to retract your first statement or alter it so as not to frighten people such as me with a very low immune system! but that is how you make your money isn't it?0 -
I'll tell you what BMSGuy, after reading your posts on here i am so thankful it wont be my door you will be knocking on or with that attitude you'd find yourself in a cell for the rest of the day:)0

Neither was I. I was trying at this point to find out her position and when she had seen the presentation0 -

One video? I have seen it and it disgusts me as well.
This is your proof:rotfl:
I don't operate like this and neither does anyone I know.
Tarring all with the same brush is bigotry you know0 -

You're right.
Every new market investigates Amway. Amway cooperate fully and in the end continue to operate.
Easy to exploit people for other continents you imply?
Is that why everybody is outsourcing to India?
I agree stark contrasts between the haves and have nots out there.
Horrible conditions to live in.
But Amway does offer opportunity, entry level opportunity.
That is why it works all over the world.
Some may doubt that but it does work and for people from all walks of life.0
