How may people do you have under you Mr BMS and how much do you earn Roughly? Stop beating about the bush and hiding behind some form of so called ethical behavior. Im sure we are all simply dying to know!!!0

It turns out that Amway weren't closed down by the UK Government , but the court-case seems to have initiated reforms in the company, as can be seen from this article (UK BERR v Amway UK) :-

What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
for anyone currently "in" amway, was previously in amway, or is considering joining i'd suggest reading merchants of deception
www.merchantsofdeception.com
its free, and is an emeralds account of business in the harties organisation, although the names have been changed throughout the book.
I've been there, bought the t-shirt and had a box of books, tapes and other stuff in my garage so big it took 3 of us to carry it to the dump. please dont flame me or critise me for being anti but i'm saying it as i saw it and lived it and this book is a mirror image of my experiences.0 -
To my forst point are you saying that your consultants are saying that all people with lowered immunities are safe to drink tap water? I said they are warned against it. And yes crap is pumped into our mains. Where are you people living? I have seen this on consumer programmes haven't you?
I work for a water company, and there are tonnes of health & safety laws that the industry has to comply with in terms of water quality: UK, EU and UN level.
The penalties for non-compliance are very severe, ranging to fines many times more than the Amway CEO earns in a year for getting out of bed.0 -
I've just read the whole thread as it was mildly entertaining.
Anyone else picture BMS bloke as that Scientologist guy who hounded poor John Sweeney?
I think that's where the problem lies - it's the cultish nature of Amway's business practices. Suck you in - and they don't make money out of the products themselves, it's starter kit/tools/seminars etc0 -
I've been involved with this before and I have to say that the idea is great. I found that everyone I spoke to about it and tried to get on board were so pessimistic about it and there was ALWAYS one person who piped up with the words "pyramid scheme"!!
I know that this isn't one and I must say that the products they offer are brilliant, tried and tested personally and the people I spoke to were nice and welcoming.
However, I spent most of my time attending seminars at a cost and buying CD's and books which in the end cost me a fortune.
I was doing this for around 7 months and hadn't managed to sign up one other person and only sold one product. I knocked it on the head after I was asked for £80 (if I remember rightly) to attend one of their biggest seminars of the year.
I'm not saying there isn't money to be made in this but you practically have to remortgage just to fund the initial steps to simply "learn the ropes"!!
The seminars were very informative and had a great atmosphere about them but when it cost me I think around £17 for a ticket and then they had the cheek to charge me £4 for a cup of tea leaving me wondering what the hell I was paying for!! Information was their answer and they informed me of nothing more than what can be found on the internet.
Like I say everyone was very friendly and welcoming although "pushy" at times and made feel like I HAD to buy these tickets, books and CD's.
The fact that I made no money whatsoever can only leave me wondering if they sell you books and CD's to make their money rather than the products, either that or I'm rubbish at selling the concept and have no perseverence :-S0
