tesco, opinions on prices

Does anyone think that Tesco is expensive now ? or is it just me.
i have found that if I shop there it costs alot more than say Morrisons or Asda and I dont find their offers as good, not many BOGOFs anymore, yet it still seems as busy in there as ever, perhaps its just the products I buy are never on offer there , many items seem to have gone up rapidly compared to other stores.

How often do you shop, if you dont shop often maybe you miss the offers on what you buy
i know the price of eggs, bread and some other products did go up in price due to the bad weather in the summer we had, what other products do you think have gone up

I think they have always been more expensive for the things I buy which is manily fresh produce. In the past whenever me & my wife have given Tesco a 'try' we have ended up spending more than at other Supermarkets. However if i had a bit more spare cash I would try not to shop at supermarkets full stop. Money hungry scum
  • Tesco's haven't had very good offers for a while i've been shopping elsewhere. One item i usually buy is their diet coke and gone up from 37p to 44p so i'm going back to Lidls for that. Pringles are on BOGOF £1.99 at present but i can get BOGOF in Home Bargains for £1.38.
  • I find general food shopping there more expensive, but for clothing, dvds, toys etc I find it one of the cheapest Physical shops (rather than online shop). I also love their sales, got my 9 month old some T-shirts in the next few sizes up for 25p each, nice looking & decent quality.

  • i always do my weekly shop at tescos, i tend to get more or less the same things and if any offers are on for things we like then i have them too.. generlly used to cost me approx £80 for my regular hit.. have noticed this last couple of weks since i went back to the regular stuff after xmas that its more like £95.. so i agree.. they seem to have got more expensive

 I agree. Also there are not as many Tesco Value products as there used to be. My weekly shop is up about 10%, I think. Time to look elsewhere, maybe?

I don't have loyalty to any supermarket, although i do most of my shopping at Tesco's using half price offers, own brands etc. I agree their prices are higher and its best to shop around - although don't go out of your way - and pick up bargins as you see them.

Their fruit and veg is overpriced and doesn't last as long as stuff bought from market stall.

Every time I go into Tescos I spend in excess of £90, yet I can do a similar shop in Asda for £70.

I love Tescos clothes, entertainment etc, but it just isn't enough to justify over spending by £20 per week!
