Update on toilet roll!!!! Even when I squash it I can hear it whizzing round when I'm downstairs - grrrrrrrrrrrrr
How old is DD? Maybe it would cut her usage if you told her how much they cost and that she would have to buy the next lot!!
One of my daughters used to have a friend stay over regularly and she could go through a whole roll during the weekend. She was around 14 or 15 at the time and in the end I asked her what she did with it. It turned out she used it for everything........wiping make-up off, buffing up her shoes et, etc. She must have seen my face cos the next time she came she brought one with her :rotfl: :rotfl:
The thing is, I can't stand cheap loo roll, and the good stuff works out at between 40p and 50p a roll.
The housekeeping goes a lot further now all the brood have left the nest
Re the dishwasher - mine is only switched on around once a week. I rinse everything before it goes in and leave it till it's full. You just need lots of dishes (which I have). I think a dishwasher uses around 5 litres of water for a wash cycle. I'm sure you'd use more than that washing up several times a day. Another plus for dw's is that the temperature of the water ensures any bugs are killed off.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi Consultant31
Kids eh! My lovely DD is now 17 and is showing no sign of being money aware. She is studying music at college & has a Saturday job in a shop. Her head is full of music and she forgets everything else.
I hate nagging her all the time but nothing seems to penetrate.Debt Free Date [STRIKE]December[/STRIKE] June 2019

Monday is my day off so trying not to spend all day on MSE- it always tempts me.
My plans for today are:-
Get washing out while the sun is shining.
Hoover the house.
Do meal plans.
Buy food for the week.
Go to Barclays - they are charging me interest on a mortgage reserve that we have paid off.
Take back DDs jeans & get refund.
Put a couple of DDs coats on ebay.
Put a book on Amazon something I have never done before.
Wow I'm going to be kept busy - I've got meals to cook as well.
Have a good day everyone. X

I did my food shopping today and it came to 46.50. How do you all manage to keep your shopping bills so low.

Today has been a good one on my DFW quest. I've had a NSD and 8.19 on my PAD.
I used my lunch break to check my bank accounts and pay my cc's according to my snowball.
I have some ebay items selling today. So far over 50.00 which I will pay off my manky MBNA card.
I must sort out a few more things to sell.
Be back tomorrow. xxDebt Free Date [STRIKE]December[/STRIKE] June 2019

Had a pretty good day today. It would have been a NSD but I'm going out tonight with my old college mates.
Took 2 eggs and a slice of HM bread to work for lunch and made scrambled eggs in microwave.
Made a PAD of 5.00 today to my miserable MBNA card.
Will have a NSD tomorrow.Debt Free Date [STRIKE]December[/STRIKE] June 2019

I haven't updated lately as I'm having a few problems with my internet connection at home.
I feel that I am definitely controlling my finances rather than them controlling me. My attitude seems to be changing so much. I buy what I NEED not whatever I like the look of when I'm walking around the shops. This also means I don't wander round the shops so often therefore more time for home and other things.
I'm still baking my own bread and cakes and never wasting any food.
The big BUT is I still spend quite a bit going out but I don't think i really want to change that too much.
Thanks everyone whose diaries have inspired and all DFWs for being supportive.
Nite nite all
