I haven't updated for over 4 months now -no computer at home!! At last I have a laptop to use at home (provided by work)!

My DD has just celebrated her 18th birthday and I did spend too much but I am now back on the straight & narrow.

I am collecting the Sun vouchers for camping at £1 a night and am still shopping in Lidl & Aldi, meal planning and being careful with energy usage and using the car.

I've not spent a single penny today - yippee!

I've been doing spreadsheets and am going to restart my spending diary and updating on here regularly.

    See you all soon x

  • Hi Debbie
Just wanted to post to say you should join the Old Style Grocery Challenge on the OS Boards (if you haven't already), it's great for keeping track of what you spend on food and everyone on the thread is really supportive. Maybe see you there.
    Good luck

    Hey Jed
Thanks for the idea. I will officially join in September but try it by myself for August.
I am so in awe of all you people who keep to £100 a month my own challenge for August is £50 a week for 3 people, 2 dogs, 1 cat & 2 guinea pigs.

I am off shopping in a minute starting at Aldi!!

    Thanks for the encouragement.

  • Well it's hard to believe that over 2 years have passed since I last posted!! I have lurked for all that time but now I MUST get rid of that debt once and for all!!
The good things are we have reduced our utility bills over the last couple of years. The bad thing is that I still spend too much due to lack of planning mostly. I go to the supermarket far too often.
But now Christmas is coming I am going to post on here and resurrect my spending disry so that I am in a good position to start the new year.
Off to write lists etc now ...... back soon!

  • Had another NSD yesterday but today I,ve done some christmas shopping (from saved money) and spent £23.40 on groceries which included £5 on loo roll and £5 cheese.
Food has certainly increased in price - worryingly so. After Christmas I am going to redo all my budgets etc.

  • You gotta start somewhere though. Maybe you need to start again at the begining - I'd do a new SOA and post it up on here so you can truly see in black and white what's going on.
