see https://www.quidco.com - a site where you can earn cashback from online purchases. There's also a certain amount of free money available. I've had £14.99 for signing up to a free trial with lovefilm, £20.00 for having a visit from a sales rep for Hillary's blinds, and £41 for applying for a Goldfish credit card, to list just a few of the freebies. You can also get quite large sums for certain purchases, such as car and home insurance. It's definitely worth looking at.

  • **edit** I think I only saw page 1 of the thread when I posted this. Will leave it just in case it's useful but great to hear you're feeling so much more positive today. Well done.

    Hi Magicsgirl

I suspect you have a choice to make. It's the horse/car/motorbike or the house. Only you can make the call as to which side of the scales mean most to you or add most to your quality of life. The big question is which will make you happiest? I think from the tone of your posts it's going to be really difficult for you to keep juggling everything, especially if you're already feeling very tired and stressed with it all (and understandably so).

Hope this is some use to you, if not feel free to ignore. But to me looking in from outside I think that if you are to repay your debts then something somewhere has to give. Maybe other people with more experience can see other ways around it but my worry is the cost to your health...

    Lots of luck.

Have had a good day today as have done some positive things:
Spoken to the mortgage company to go from repayment onto interest only - saving £285 per month!
Arranged an IVA interview for Monday
Asked everyone I can think of to ask everyone they can think of about having horse on loan or part share
Taken decision to SORN bike until the summer and then reassess if I need to sell it
Booked 2 more pampered chef bookings
    Found 2 more piano pupils
Got a pay rise of £65 per month
Am going to go through every room in the house this weekend and fill boxes of stuff to sell on ebay

    Feel much better already :-)

Came across this forum/post by accident really, but just wanted to add my support to you magicsgirl :T

Re the horse loan - I loaned a horse from a lady (this is 5 years ago now) and the arrangement worked very well. Later, when I bought my own horse and things got a bit hectic, I part-loaned him - to help money-wise AND to help muck out/exercise him. It is a matter of finding someone who you are happy to share your precious horse with though! I had one disaster where a teenage girl decided to take scissors to my Welsh Cob's beautiful flowing mane and tail . But, apart from that girl, I had another lovely lady who adored Copper as much as I did and a lot of the girls at the yard were part loaning their horses, to help financially and the time involved with keeping horses!

    Good luck girl :j
  • Thanks for all your support
Am really hoping the horse loan thing will work... am going to go to the big feed merchants tomorrow and have a look on the notice board for potential loaners to... and maybe contact the college for people on equestrian course... farrier and vet are keeping ear to ground too.
Just thinking maybe my dog would like to sire some puppies... maybe could make the cost of a puppy in cash..?
Can't wait to get home this weekend and start ransacking the cupboards to sell unwanted stuff...
Am feeling quite boyed up by it all thanks to all you guys - so unlike 2 days ago when I was at my lowest desperate place...
    Thanks xx

Working things out and getting a plan to move forward is a great motivator, so while you feel down at the moment, when you get the ball rolling you'll find it's a great feeling.

Be flexible though - if something comes along and messes up your well thought out plans, change the plans to cope with the new circumstances rather than let things fall apart.

WOW - you've been working hard!

Re the dog "pimping". I assume your dogs a pedigree - we've only done it once with our springer spaniel, and he earned a tidy £200. And pick of the litter (though we couldn't take the little one on so he stayed with his mother).
It's a good idea. What a turnaround in 2 days eh?! well done!

    Hi there
If you want to breed puppies from your dog, then make sure he is genetically sound first. I take it he is a pure breed?

Well done on making some changes. The extra money freed up from the mortgage, should be more than enough, with what you are already paying, to do a DMP via CCCS so probably worth giving them a call again to discuss the changed circumstances.

However I was a bit worried about the not declaring income thing. I know that you need every penny, but not telling HMRC will come back to bite you in the long run.
