Don't install any TalkTalk crap on your nice clean new system install. It is not required as your connection is handled by your router. You simply need to get the PC talking to the router.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

okay...im sure womewhere ive seen configure to DHCP but can find it now...
if i click onto my LAN connection and it shows the connection status, under support it shows no IP address....is this where im going wrong? and if so how do i enter it as its giving me no option to?

Click on your LAN connection, Properties, highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) , Properties. Check the boxes for obtain IP and DNS are checked.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I have.....Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the follwowing action cannot be completed: Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. Cannot proceed.
