If you are looking at the £15.00 u-fix tariff Click Here to get a "7 Day Stock" mda compact for free.

I would still recommend the original link for the £25.00 tariff as the phone will be new.

Has anyone tried out the T-Mobile MDA compact from scancom? Just wondered what they are like, that is both pda and scancom.

Not tried that phone but I would be wary of Scancom if I were you.

I got a bluetooth headset from there that broke, tried to get it fixed or replaced on the warranty and they ignored me. Contacted trading standards who wrote to them and they ignored TS as well.

Luckily I paid on my CC who refunded it or else I would have lost out big time!

Thing is before that happened I was a very happy customer of theirs! They have some good deals but if its that risky I don't need the hassle.

Rearrange the letters of Scancom (swap the m and the n and you'll see they are a dodgy outfit!!!)

bought one off these about 10 days ago from scancom. I was happy with the pda/phone up to a point until i tried to get a memory card for it. Ordered 1Gb card from ebay, and the card would not work on the MDA. So I ordered a 512Mb (almost double the price :( ) from Dixons, and no joy again.

Both cards seemed to work on a friends pda but not on mine (i could only get a 128Mb card to work on my pda).

So im sending it back, may get the newer verison of this phone with slightly more memory built in.

You could have just had a problem with the memory you purchased. I spent £16 on a 256mb card from 7dayshop and have had no problems whatsoever. The phone arrived the following day.

Since then I have used excel to create loads of different calculators etc. I am in the process of looking into purchasing creditcard transaction software + mini printer fro my new business venture.

If I could just use this phone to do the washing up I would be totally happy. icon12.gif

Well my original MDA Compact has finally given up the ghost, "This has too be the shortest I have owned a piece of technology hardware." It was sent to HTC Europe for repair and came back with more annoying problems, Scancom hooked me up with a shiny new MDA CompactII and I initially thought WOW.

This new compact runs Mobile 2005 and has many improvements including polymer battery 2megapixel camera support for PDF & Power Point files, but if like me you deal with large files think very carefully about whether or not this phone is the right choice. For some reason they have reduced the processor speed to 197mhz (that's a 50% reduction) and the speed difference is noticable. Whilst this phone is usable, I would opt for an alternative.

    MOTTO:

Think very carefully before purchasing a CompactII, incidently it will not operate on a Windows 98se system so forget about sync'ing or installing additional software.
