When it arrives could you post here what your first impressions of it are and if it's got wireless LAN/WiFi capability? Cheers.0 -
The only user of an Orange SPV that I know curses it every time it rings... but then again he 'inherited' it in his job and is probably not using it in the way that you would wish to.
Let me know your thoughts... as I'm coming up to switching time.CarQuake / Ergo Digital0 -

this is a cracking deal - i've ordered one for the wife 1200 yesterday and it arrived at 0930 - far far cheaper than anywhere else - even called into t-mobile shop and they chargin £170 on a £25 relax 200 tariff and won't even entertain supplying the mda on a ufix £15 tariff
I wish i could get one but got a 6680 2 months ago - its not on , the wife, who's a bit of a technophobe, having a better phone than me. i can't even swap with her cos i'm on 3!!!!0 -
No your quite right, it's (at this time) an unbeatable deal. U-Fix is nowhere near the best mobile phone contract & if you wish to use it outside of your free usage you have to buy topups.
This is by far one of the best PDA / Mobile telephones on the market at the moment. You really can use it for everything, Internet, E-mail, Watching Videos, Listening to MP3, Create Word & Excel Documents, Manage Appointments, Take Notes, Contacts, Sync with PC (Outlook) it's even a telephone. The problem with these PDA type devices are there size, not with this. It's big enough to be useable (5 input methods) and small enough not to look silly held against your face to take / make calls.
I have seen both the XDA's (The big ones) & the Motorola A1000 (3 network) the first being way too big & the later being slow & temperamental. The motorola only allows you to view MS office documents (not good).0 -
You can get quickoffice software for the motorola A1000 to edit word, excel and powerpoint native files. It alos has a buit in GPS receiverI think....0

Dammit ........... After Orange knocked me back for my SPV C550 (long story) i have since ordered my self a A1000 on 3.
Maybe i should send it back and get the MDA .......... t-mobile dont have that great coverage though do they? I live neard gravesend in kent.0 -
Thanks all who have replied to this question. There are certainly some ideas here and I can go loking at phones now!
Still puzzles me how 3 out of the 4 major high street company stores that I went into couldn't or wouldn't help when I asked about combination PDA phones. I suppose there just aren't sufficient staff bonuses available on these models to make it worth while them waking up for!

Oh and another thing to bear in mind is that some networks like to load their own versions of firmware on their PDAs. I got my Treo SIM free and unlocked so didn't have this problem, but I can't imagine it would be that difficult to remove the network's customisations if you wanted to..."...And I gave that man directions, even though I didn't know the way, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am this week." -- Homer Simpson0
