get your doctor to either refer you to a skin dermatilogy clinic or prescribe "Roaccutane".
It works !!
There are side effects and its prescribed in relation to your weight.
You will suffer very dry lips and they will check for heart problems but it does work .I know.0 -
I have suffered from this and found the following website great for tips and general advice/info:
http://www.rosacea.org/patients/materials/coping/index.htmlAccording to a National Rosacea Society survey, some of the most common rosacea triggers include sun exposure, emotional stress, hot or cold weather, wind, alcohol, spicy foods, heavy exercise, hot baths, heated beverages and certain skin-care products.
Avoiding spicy food and not aggravating the face whilst washing etc (I just use water and don't use a sponge or flannel) has really helped me. Also - keeping out of the sun as it just shoots me into a flare-up.
I'm curringly using Oilatum Natural Repair Face cream (£5.19 for a tube at Boots) as i can't afford any fancy creams :grinheart (if I could then I would be tempted to give this a go!) and I have notice that my face has really calmed down with it.

I've never heard of that before so just did a search on Netdoctor for it and would recommend that you take a look at the side effects/warnings before asking for it (obviously your doctor would want to go through these with you too.
Looks like it's pretty serious stuff:

Hi,
My teenage son has had very spotty skin (very red & angry looking and covering most of his face) for about the last 18 months and it seemed to be getting worse. A friend mentioned that a colleague's daughter had the same problem & tried HRI Clear Complexion from Tesco's which had cleared the spots completely. It is a herbal remedy - £3 something for 50 tablets.
My son hates taking any sort of medication and was very sceptical, but 4 weeks later his skin is considerably better. He still has some small spots but they are hardly noticable and he is very pleased!
I don't know why it works or whether this improvement will continue but he's going to carry on taking them.
Hope this helps someone

Hi loopylass,
The instructions state over 12s - 1 tablet 2ce a day
adults - 1 tablet 2 or 3 times a day.
The daughter of the friend's friend (!) took three tablets daily for the first few weeks & now takes one 2ce a day.
My son has only taken one in the morning & evening and doesn't use a facial wash. He had been using Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Treatment Cream for a few weeks before he started the Clear Complexion and carried on using it until it ran out. So I don't know if initially it was a combination of both products or just the tablets that brought about the improvement. He's so happy with his skin now that I don't even have to remind him to take the tablets!!
Hope you have the same success with your son

I have been trawling the internet all evening looking for roseacea info as mine is particularly bad at the moment and I am really fed up with it. I never thought to look on here! - Doh!
I have a several food triggers which set me off - alcohol, cheese and chocolate (why is it always the nice things?) Also getting hot or cold sets it off too, and stress - so basically everything!
I find that the plainest moisturisers are best and am currently using Clinique foundation which doesn't seem to irritate. However I would like to try Aloe Vera gel and wondered if anyone else has had any success with it?Not Buying It! 20150 -
Wash your affected area with ketocanazole shampoo reguarly, it was prescribed to my Mum exactly for this condition and worked wonders. She rarely used it on her hair though, just her skin. you should be able to get a shampoo with this ingredient in it over the counter though.0

When I was younger I had a lot of acne. I finally killed it off when I took a 4 month course of serious antibiotics. It was too late in a lot of ways though - my skin was permanently marked. I forget about it now, but at the time it transformed my life.Happy chappy0
