Episode 1: 9th Jan - What did you think?

I think the web site is hugely more informative and practical than the launch TV programme. I can't thank Martin enough for this site's timely introduction - this really is a great resource! I found the programme dizzy and manic in its delivery. However, it's clearly made for a modern audience impatient to flick channels at the first sign of apparent inactivity. For my 'money', I'll be sticking to Radio 4 & Moneybox. Mind you, I think the BBC's Money Programme is dumbed-down to a point of it being almost irrelevant to real debate. So, my reaction in respect of Martin's programme probably says more about myself and my AGE than it does about the relevance and obvious appeal of the programme. I say good luck with it ALL .... never has there been a greater need for people to understand how to manage their cash.0

I really liked the content, but wanted Martin and his co-presenter to STOP SHOUTING at me. Surely there are other ways of conveying excitement & immediacy without doing this? Further to other comments, agreed that the co-presenter's top was not the most flattering thing she could have worn and the audience looked very odd lined up behind & standing - they looked really uncomfortable and most definitely not relaxed. Overall, a good mix of relevant content & some good footage (Paul Daniels & Debbie McGee/rock climbing analogy/top tips with vinegar & soap nuts/previewing next week's stories), but some edges need smoothing

Make it Topical?
As well as the decision on reclaiming bank fees; my guess is that we will see an interesting "punch - up" at the Northern Rock EGM. on Tuesday. There is rather a lot of money at stake and normally stiff upper lips get mobilised in such circumstances.
How about an item on spreading your risk by keeping under the 35K limit coupled to who owns whom?
Anyone want to ask a question about re-mortgaging after their NR teaser rate runs out?
Harry

I've just watched the extension to the first week's programme.
Right at the end Martin mentions "Confusion Marketing"; so that is what it is called!
It sounds like what I was discussing on the forum last summer in relation to Electricity suppliers:

Don't be called a numptie.
My attempt to switch electricity suppliers has just resolved itself. (note to self: post the result) Guess what? I'm pleased I am no longer with National Power. That is called serendipity.0 -

You posted something similar to this a few pages back (page 3) and you are attempting to get Martin nominated for a knighthood as well, do you have a crush on Martin?:D. I'm sorry to inform you that he is getting married to Lara, the channel 5 weather presenter...
