I enjoyed it, but the figures didn't add up in the compers piece, 50 comps a day, 250 a week, 1500 in 6 months. This was not only spoken, but emblazoned across the screen in big red numbers. I make it about 6500 in 6 months. I thought Martin was supposed to be good with numbers. :rotfl:I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0

I think some of the figures were referring to the values of the prizes that he'd won over 6 months.0 -

I think I've still got it saved on Sky+ so I'll have another look later, but I'm sure she said something like "he's entered 50 competitions a day, that's 250 a week and 1500 in the 6 months since he's started."I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0 -
I have had a look on Sky+ and this is exactly what was said:
"Glynn believes he maintains his winning streak by entering as many competitions as he can, that's over 50 a day, which is 250 a week amounting to a whopping 1,500 competitions since starting 6 months ago"
The 1500 fills the screen in big red letters, so both the woman doing the article and the editors have missed this quite obvious error, it should be about 6,500 if he enters 250 a week, I assume he has weekends off hence the 50 a day becoming 250 a week.
If you want people to trust you with financial advice, you have to show you can at least do basic maths, no idea how such a glaring mistake has slipped through the net.
Probably nothing to do with Martin, but he wants to make sure the team around him don't tarnish his name by making such basic mistakes with figures.I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0 -
Good show! I thought that Martin seemed slightly 'Hyper':D
I love Martin's advice & reading his info & updates on this site but I have to confess I find him a wee bit difficult to watch.
I find the excited & shouty way he can come aross a bit off putting.
I guess he is just so passionate :money: that it all spills out !
I am glad he has a show to "spread the gospel"

, but I think Martin's climbing wall was a visual metaphor for his explanation of the MEAFs.
There have been a number of studies done over the years about the best ways to learn & retain more information and memory. The more senses you involve in learning something, the more likely you are to remember it later on.
One of the best memory techniques is to associate an image of/related to what you're trying to remember. So, perhaps Martin going up and down a climbing wall was the visual part of his MEAF explanation to help viewers remember it better?
I really don't like this sort of trying to explain something by doing something with nothing to do with the actual thing, if people are interested in saving money, a cheap trick like this is surely not needed?
Can someone please start a campaign to get the lovely lady to keep her blouse, but wear a shorter skirt?
Martin please don't slow down too much! Mind you, I do seem to be the only one who doesn't have a problem with it... and I do myself speak a little fast sometimes.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I thought it was a good show, like others have said, it was mostly stuff I've read on here but I guess that was the point, to spread the word to the C5 watching masses.
Martin did speak a little quickly but its obvious to see he was speaking with great passion.
As far as the rest of the show was concerned, thought some of it was a little cheesey (the flying piggy banks etc.) also the music playing over Martin while he was speaking, not sure why that was needed.
Overall though I thought it was good and will certainly be Skyplussing it in the future (thanks to my free Sky+ box courtesy of MSE!)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Got my £4 back from amazon - really quickly too!
