Question re using freecycle-If you post an item for sale, where do you look to find if you have any responses?Stupid question but i realy dont know.Ps i do have a yahoo email

You should get an email from anyone interested either direct or via the group. In the daily digest you should see your post offering the item.

I had one lady say "it's my turn this week", and she had a list of about 20 addresses from where to collect, radius of 20 miles.
Presumed it was a community got together or may a charity shop. Maybe even a boot sale group.

To the person who asked about items for sale...as far as I'm aware you can't sell items on Freecycle, hence the 'changing the world one gift at a time'...

Selling is what Ebay, etc is for!

Would I have to log into my yahoo email?or would it be indicated on the page?

Yes Holly...your email account with Yahoo. There are a lot of settings in your Freecycle Group page, where you can amongst other things, enable individual e mail offerings/ wanted or daily digest or neither, just look at it on the Web. Sometimes you can also subscribe to the Cafe section, just chit chat.
  • My friend listed a tumble drier and was offered a tenner for it but they responded using a non freecycle email address.

I frequently have requests from the same people using several different email addresses.

This week we have had three requests for DS lites!

Can I deliver to the next town about 40miles away as sob sob sob story. No. I don't drive, it is a valuable item, pay a mate a tenner or something. Even a courier would only have charged £15.

    Rant over

One group I subscribe to did have a post from the moderator about not selling items after one person complained that he was offered a toaster for £5

It even quoted the e mail from the idiot who was trying to sell it.

We then got another post from someone complaining that people should be allowed to sell stuff on Freecycle!
