This is quite helpful, it has pictures too http://www.productwiki.com/microsoft-xbox/article/how-to-go-from-xbox-to-xbox-media-center-in-30-minutes.html It depends on which method you go for, the modified USB adapter or the Action Replay/Xploder and memory card method really.Hi All
Bought an xbox from Game for £20.00 after seeing this thread. I'm looking for Splinter Cell at the mo.
Can some one list all the games available to use this exploit?
Can some one post an IDIOTS guide
 Thanks
You can get Splinter Cell from here for £1 http://www.cex.co.uk/product.php?sku=3307210126290This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

few updates from me... firstly, silver your mem card *still* hasn't arrived but sods law, the only usb stick my mum had worked first time. go figure. still, that's now in wales so will still use yours for a few things then send it right back. but sods law, the only usb stick my mum had worked first time. go figure. still, that's now in wales so will still use yours for a few things then send it right back.
second, anyone in leeds, gamestation by the market have 1 splinter cell original for 99p, one mech assault orig (didn't check serial) for about £6, and 1 dvd remote for £1.99. game at the top of scofield centre have 2 or 3 splinter cell originals for 98p (though i wouldn't put it past em to hand over a platinum at the counter so do check). and cex opposite virgin (are the all zavvi now?) have 1 splinter cell orig for £2.00, and one mem card for £6. and no where has scart cables
and... bloody hell xbmc is good :d real easy to get going too, i think there's far too much info and differing ways to install but basically, load the save, ok through everything, ftp krayzie's extras folder to e:/apps and the contents of tech's XBMC folder to e:/apps/extras/DASHBOARD then run extras from the dashboard apps section, backup/test and replace dash and you're done. and by the looks of it 1.6s are no different from any other versions with xbmc (ie. screen calibration / overscan stuff works fine) so it's prolly just xebian and other full distros that have problems with em.0

That should work in any case. I can vouch for the Classics version and this guy used Platinumpepsi_max2k wrote: »second, anyone in leeds, gamestation by the market have 1 splinter cell original for 99p, one mech assault orig (didn't check serial) for about £6, and 1 dvd remote for £1.99. game at the top of scofield centre have 2 or 3 splinter cell originals for 98p (though i wouldn't put it past em to hand over a platinum at the counter so do check). and cex opposite virgin (are the all zavvi now?) have 1 splinter cell orig for £2.00, and one mem card for £6. and no where has scart cables

From a quick google it seems Xbmc has always been able to screen calibrate by reducing the number of visible pixels and overscan correction was only later added for supporting chipsets.0

what settings affect overscan then? both my boxes have identicle setup options, and the only one affecting screen size is the Video Calibration... one, which on both do the same thing by alloweing the top left / bottom right arrow to be moved around, the box to be squared and the subtitles moved.0

Perhaps it never was added then, all I found was a thread of intent from 2003. Its possible that it could use either method without any GUI difference, but at this point I can't find proof that its there. Anyway thanks for this operational info I'm looking at buying a second unit locally of eBay rather than barter/lucky dip at stores and it gives me a few more options.0

always be wary with old XBMC info.
its changed a lot from the 'old days' where you had to chnge .xml docs to alter settings.
old guides often dont work for various reasons0

I thought the overscan problems only applied if you were running linux? I'm not sure which softmod installer to use to mod my xbox... Some people are saying Krayzie Ndure and other people are saying to use SID 5.0.. Is anyone better than the other?0

I presume they are pretty much the same but I opted for SID as there were lots of tutorials and it seemed straightforward and was.I'm not sure which softmod installer to use to mod my xbox... I am considering trying Krayzies on another I have to compare but it doesn't seem as straightforward
Edit: Just performed a softmod using Krayzies, I used SID previously. I found both procedures as easy as each other. One observation, Krayzies doesn't prompt you to create an MS backup, is this done when you perform the eeprom backup? This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

That would appear to be the case so as many people said in the other thread there's little reason to avoid v1.6 boxes.
Krayzies NDURE has always been the most stable.0
