Manipulating the American Airlines booking computer

Want to book a cruise, so now need to buy the Miami flights independently through AA - so to recap can I still get a 20 per cent discount if I phone up with my Mastercard details and have made a 'provisional' booking on line??
Hi Karena - TBH, I'm not sure if the 15% Mastercard promotion is still running - a quick call too AA reservations on 020-7365-0777 should give you the answer.:beer:0 -
Thank you so much - just called them and the 15 per cent is still on!:j Now I have to figure out what to do, the outward is fine (lhr/miami) but only seem to get via jkf on the return...?0

BTW when they worked out my 15% off, they took it off the total, inc. taxes and fees, just got lucky I guessThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
I am almost there now, and wanted a little advice:rolleyes: . I can get an ok fare lhr to miami (via the dreaded jfk) and back directly to UK. I will need to buy a single from either MIA or FLL to get to JFK where I am spending a couple of days. Do I buy a return for best deal and not use return sector? Thank you!0

You should be entitled to a FREE stopover in New York.
Use the Multi city option of the web-site to put in arrival \departure dates.0 -

Absolutely correct - the only downer with using the 'multi-city' option when doing a search is that you don't get to see the price flexibility that you do on the 'price & schedule' search, but if you can be bothered (& I can) you can do a search by 'price & schedule' on each leg, to pin down the cheapest flights, on the cheapest dates and then do your 'multi-city' search with those dates and those preferred flight times as your option.0 -
OK, I will try that. At the moment have got the flights at £961.40 (two persons) but need the leg that will get me back up to JFK. Have spent hours on this, cancelling my initial one (which was £30 less and has gone up £30 in one hour!), then trying to find it again! So now they are reserved and might have a look later to see if lower price but will try sector by sector to see if I can get the MIA/JFK sector for a reasonable price or event FLL/JFK. Any tips would really be appreciated!0

Hi karena
I've got the flights for LHR (via BOS, ORD, DFW or JFK)- MIA - JFK - LHR for £332 (incl tax, but before Mastercrad discount) each on a set of dates that I put in at random, if you give me an idea of your travel dates, I'll try and finesse it for you.
Some of the connection times at ORD & DFW seemed much more traveller friendly than at JFK:beer:0 -
Hiya Murphy - hope you are well - weight is coming down very nicely!!
I did the 50% off discount with AA for our Christmas flights and at the moment I am hunting down flights back to Fort Myers with them for April/May time. The real big tick off is that the 6.35am flight with BA out of Newcastle is no longer partner share with AA!! I had an email from BA about it months ago and had hoped it would not affect the early morning flight - wrong!! So we Ncl passengers have to bite the bullet yet again when trying to sort out flights to the USA.
Man, I wish some airline would get their finger out and fly into the US from Ncl. AA were due to do it two year ago this May but pulled out not long before the flights were due to start.
Hope the 15% discount is still available when I do finally get my flights sorted out.
Best regards to all,
Christine0 -
