Spare a thought for us Deaf people who won't be able to use it.. as not one carry subtitles!!
and the thought of paying my TV licence for your enjoyment
I'm sure you can get subtitles on the download version of the BBC iPlayer. They just don't offer them on the streamed version which I think is because of a technical limitation of flash which doesn't make it possible but Adobe are improving flash video all the time so I am sure they will make it a feature eventually.0 -
I'm not sure you do need a TV Licence to view BBC iPlayer as the licence site states "You need a TV Licence to use any television receiving equipment such as a TV set, set-top boxes, video or DVD recorders, computers or mobile phones to watch or record TV programmes as they are being shown on TV."
If anyone knows different for certain then please let us know. I do not receive live TV and so iPlayer is a Godsend for those really must watch programmes - though there aren't many of those these days.0 -
You DONT need a tv licence to watch the bbc iplayer - it says so on their FAQ. I found this out as my daughter is away at uni, doesnt have a tv (and hence no licence) so this is good news for everyone in her position. Here's the link:
