No, from what I remember the programs expire after a certain time period.

only getting dowload speeds of 480kb/s so finding iplayer bit frustrating as it pauses/buffers too frequently and also tried to watch 90 minute program the other day and it stopped with an error after 60 mins.

dont particularly want to download iplayer software.

itv.com on the otherhand plays much better as it it loads in 15 min(or so) chunks.

The iplayer software has higher quality video but the downside is obviously that it takes longer to download, and also the small fact (that they don't particularly promote) that it is actually a file-sharing app. So if you are on a cap that includes your upload and your download then you might want to kill the kservice.exe process to stop iplayer hogging your upload bandwidth.

Yes, this is excellent I used it last week when my Sky+ went up the swanny - very helpful, and did not have to wait for it to buffer or download, just click and watch!!!
  • I have successfully, downloaded a show, stripped off the DRM protection and put it on the ipod... but the quality is rubbish, sound and video don't match, framerate is useless.

    I much prefer streaming it

Thas sounds more like a problem with whatever you used to convert to iPod format - everything I've downloaded so far has been synced as far as sound and vision are concerned and of at least broadcast quality!

  • Nope, it's the DRM stripping procedure.. once you rip it, the framerate is rubbish and not synced anymore... never had a problem converting video onto the ipod though

Oh that's a shame they don't use subtitles! The issue should be raised with them and it seems so silly not to do that :(
