Whew............have just spent 2 hours sorting out my friends DD's....why her two daughters and son cannot do it I really don't know, they are quite happy to take her money gggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrstill now her telephone, electric and water are all on DD and I have arranged for a water meter to be fitted. She lives in Studios on her own, we do not have washing machines etc and was paying £23 a month for water when she is only using about £10's worth............no more..........I will be there when they come to fit the meter so they don't try to fob her off the way they tried with us when we asked to get a meter fitted. The problem lies in the fact thet we have hot water from a central system which we pay for seperately, the charge covers hot water, the laundry and the central heating. Getting a thicko from the water board to understand this is very difficult............poor souls cannot grasp that we still pay for hot water by a seperate means.
OH has a meeting tonight, so I had better do something about supper I supose.....................cheers.................oh almost forgot OH's annuity should be in our account tomorrow......the company rang OH whilst I was doing my good turn, so hooray..........more cash for the hols account. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Afternoon All
Just popped back briefly as need to shoot down to the post office.
Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Pooky
So sorry about the hospital result Mrs Mix (((hugs)))).
Not had a bad day here, done lots of admin, have a banking job I will need to do later - could do it tomorrow but as I am in town in the morning would rather do it tonight.
Menu plan has had a c**k up. Thought I had Shepherds Pie in the frezzer but it was chilli - didnt fancy it tonight so need to go and look and see what else we can have.
Will clear my smallish ironing pile tonight.
Hope you all have a good evening.0 -
Hugs and kisses to you Pam ((((
)))) If anyone deserved better news than that it is you. Hopefully you won't have to wait to long but please don't feel you have to put on a brave face here.
Catowen...I'm glad your results were good. :j
Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs Pooky
Shez...Eat the flippin thing. I'm sure you've found worse at the back of your fridge.
Churchmouse....Well done on resisting the third option. :A
Catznine...I hope DD recovers soon.
Well after my sleepless night I had a rubbish day at work. OH gave me really difficult stuff to do which I just can't grasp and he can't grasp that I can't grasp it IYSWIM.
I ended up tearful and fell asleep at my desk.
I've just had a row with the girls too over their TV addiction and as a result the Haribo house is not a fun place to be tonight. .
I just wish I could stomach some alcohol.
Have a lovely evening everyone.

Popped in to say Mrs Mix - hugs to you, I hoped for better news for you.
HariboJunkie - take a hug too, I'm too having problems sleeping and as an effect the whole house is on egg shells, I need my sleep but can't sleep. I hope your OH understand that you may need a little more teaching to grasp what he wanted you to do at work, tell him to make a roast dinner and see how he gets on if he has never done it before, I'll have a G & T for you, infact I'll have one for myself too, so thats a double just about to be poured.
Hugs to anyone else who needs them, and churchmouse, how lovely of you to drive 200 miles cause your father was in a dizzy about a letter, he will be so proud to have such a lovely and caring daughter.
Well, I'm off to take up three pairs of school trousers for my two children, my son (8) needed age 13 to fit his waist, and therefore could make another pair from my the leg cut-offs, I can't understand why, he certainly isn't fat, I must remember to cut the label out too, otherwise some of the other kids may call him due to the size of the trousers.

Thanks Merlot. :A
Bless him, he did try to be nice but I was very grumpy and sleepy and feeling a bit thick. He's very scientifically minded and doesn't really get that I'm not. As for the roast dinner, I'm afraid he sees cooking as an unneccesary task as he'd be happy with beans on toast most nights.
Sorry for the moan people. I've told myself to get a grip and get some sleep and I'll be fine in the morning. Reminds me of when the twins were small and I thought I was going to commit murder through lack of sleep.
Hope you sleep better too Merlot and you'd better make it a triple.xxx

17 LOADS OF LAUNDRY???! Plus 4 more??!
Are you the neighbourhood laundrette??? I have the image of your house full of wet laundry and no room to move.
Just got up from a nap, toe is a bit sore right now.
DH's soup was very good, he surprised himself, but still don't know what we are having for dinner.

Hi from me!
Big hugs to Mrs Mix and to Catznine and her DD.
Catowen glad you got some good news today!
Well it's been wet and windy here in the North West. Phoned my parents this morning and they were lying by the pool in the 38 degree heat (Perth In Oz). So it's all right for some, and there's me checking the tiles are still on their roof! :rotfl:
Did the usual runaround today of school run, post office, check parent's house, get petrol, Aldi and Asda. I managed to only spend £28 so I'm still on track for my £200 or less grocery budget for January and I've still got lots of stuff in the fridge, freezer and cupboards. Then I finally cleaned the whole house, even mopped the floors, so much easier when the house is empty!
I finally made the decision to cancel our LA Finess gym membership as we haven't been for ages and I don't think we'll ever use it enough. The girls don't like the tiny pool and DH never has time to go so we'll be saving nearly £65 a month between us which really adds up over the year. So I've had to devise a way for all of us to get cheaper exercise and so far...
1. I've ordered the Gabby Logan cheap fitness dvd (as recommended by Immoral Angel in her thread) to do at home (with the curtains closed).:rotfl:
2. We are going to do even more walking than we do now!
3. When the weather improves the 4 of will go out on our bikes more often.
4. DH will take the girls swimming at the Council pool which has fab water slides etc. I can't go as some of my pupils swim there and no way are they going to see me in my costume!
The bargain leather jacket I ordered came today and it's gorgeous!:j It only cost me £18 from the Littlewoods catalogue sale, as recommended by the wonderful dlb, so thanks again for that. :T
Tonight's tea is hm chilli with pittas, rice and salad with smoothies, if I ever get off here to make it!
Have a good evening.0 -
Hugs to Mrs Mix - hope you find something to help ease your pain - is there any change of going private to get the replacment done? I know our local private hospital does a % of it's work via a local charity - might be worth asking about.
Haribo - I'm with you on the no sleep thing - feeling quite muzzy now (but not enough to fall asleep as my desk ((not that I have a desk)) Shame on you!) As for the work - shove it in DH's pile of things to do with a note saying - I'm delegating this to you - bosses always moan that no one delegatesAnd as for the kids/tv - pahhh it's winter - they'll be back outside in a few weeks running around and getting all the fresh air and exercise they need - it won't hurt them (well that's why I keep telling myself anyway)
Well I've had a lazy day - I did the ironing (and my friends - she pays me so it's always nicer to do hers than mine) then I've vegged infront of the laptop for the rest of the day looking at sewing patterns and ideas for altering clothes for DD's this year.
Like you Merlot I have to alter everything for DD1 - she's 12 but so skinny - she wanted new pants last week as she thought her others were a little to "little girlie" to be wearing in the changing rooms at school - the only ones we could get to fit though are age 6/7 (trying to find them without FiFi the flower fairy on was a joke!!) As she's so skinny and I have such probelms getting stuff to fit I've decided that this year she will have some "mummy designer" stuff - I've got the sewing machine - I can make patterns so bring it on!!
I've also been fiddling around with Freecycle today - I'm back to moderating our local group after 6 months off - still can't belive what some people ask for - they seem to miss the whole idea of the site.
Hugs to all - I'm off for a medicinal glass of wine before I even start to think about dinner."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Evening all
I'm off out to a Virgin Vie party tonight, I shan't buy anything, but the hostess knows about my situation & so understands, she was desperate to get 'bums on seats' & suggested I might like to go along just to get a break from the lodger, so I agreed. I'm taking a bottle of wine with me, so I won't feel guilty about not buying anything, I'd rather it was drunk at a party than constantly cluttering up my bedroom.
Hugs Hester

ive done a stupid thing this afternoon, i forgot a really important ingredient when loading my bread maker for the pizza base for tea. The little mixer attachment:rolleyes: luckily i was in the kitchen washing up and it didnt 'sound right' so i peeked in a saw nothing was happening, to start with i thought it was broke, till i found the mixer bit on the draining board, so i had to turn it off and delve into the mixture, hopefully it will turn out right.
eldest DS has just brought a friend home for tea- i forgot i agreed to that last friday, so i'll have to ekk it out with extra topping.
got major spends tomorrow morning ive got to book tickets for the school concert there are 6 of us going at £5 each! to watch our own children, so ive got to shell out £30.
free night out for us tomorrow as ive got cinema tickets and youngest DD is babysitting for free :T local pub has an offer on a meal and a pint (or glass of wine for £5 so might sneek that in on the way home instead of cooking late. I'll stand the fiver for food if hubby puts another one to it for the drinks:rotfl:
for those having trouble sleeping, i used to sleep stacked up on thick pillows but at christmas got one of those memory foam pillows seems strange laying so flat but honestly once i go off i get a really good nights sleep (hubby has said the same) - i got the pillows quite cheap from the local school. book people i think it wasSPC~12 ot 124
