Old Style Daily Monday 7th January

Good morning.. this is the Daily Thread for 07/01/08. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Second day running of no sleep and starting the daily. :o

Hope everyone is feeling better. I've just looked at the news on the BBC site and Aussie's part of the world is getting battered with storms and floods.icon9.gif Hope you're ok missus.

Back to normal today. Kids off to school at 8.30. I'll pop back to the house to do dishes etc then into the office for 10ish.
Hopefully should finish around 2 so a quick visit to Mr T and the Post Office until I pick the girls up at 3.30.
Spag Bol is done for tonight and I need to do more ironing at some stage.

Hope everyone has a lovely Monday.

Haribo x

Good morning Haribo, and all who follow,

((HUGS)) Aussie - if you are getting the storms, spoke to my friend near Melbourne yesterday, she has 48 degrees there!!!

((HUGS)) to anyone who is stll poorly or has poorly people to look after xxx

Well, back to normal today - children start back at school and im working, still just the one LO but now its the new year, im hoping that i will soon get another to look after.

Nothing much planned, do need to go, hopefully, my last blood test later - then the hospital to see my consultant tomorrow - im so hoping he will discharge me (i am quietly confident, my levels have been high for me). Will prob get the WM on later, and maybe make another loaf in the BM. Also need to whip the duster round downstairs, but that wont take long.

    Morning All

Finally I have some good news to report. The local speedway club's asked me to stay on next season as the cover announcer:j More money for me:j Already got one date booked in as a possibility.

No luck on the major job front yet. There's just nothing around at all.

Tried a new banana bread recipe at the weekend. This involved a lot of time and 10 ingredients:eek: The result? Not as good as the basic four ingredient recipe found on this board somewhere. I was drier and tasted no different. So back to the original way for me!!!

Anybody else noticed Martin's got a new show starting on Five this week? I forget which day but think it's Wednesday at 7.30pm.

Freezing cold here. I've turned all two of the office radiators up full, but I still feel like I'm in the arctic!!!

    Hope everyone's ok

    Morning all,

I got soooooooooo much done yesterday :T Only thing is that there is washing in various stages all over the house :p however am really happy with what I achieved .... even decluttered the 2 cr*p drawers, made chocolate brownies :D

Got to do floors today and finish up putting dried washing away and hanging wet washing. Packed lunches are done :T and am just going to do a simple freezer meal like nuggets/fishfingers chips and beans for tea..... very OS ... not

Cold's still lurking ... not being sick tho so all good. I'm just having a hot lemon and honey before I move from pc (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :rotfl: )

Hope everyone has a good day and a great week xx

Off to work soon, just having a quick read on here while I eat my breakfast.
I did some more decluttering, but not as much as I would have liked, I had the usual no-shows from freecycle, so have offered the stuff to others who asked.
Hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

Morning all - I didn't sleep very well last night. Woke up at 5.00 to go to the gym and thought 'Nah' so had an extra hour's sleep. Back to work today and I dread to think what's waiting for me, even though I was only off for 3 days. This is the start of what will probably be the busiest three months workwise of my life so far, so no point starting it exhausted. DH is also going back after 3 months off, so we're a household of joy this morning.

Breakfast was toast with a scraping of marmalade, lunch is leftover spag bol, dinner is stirfry or curry with leftover beef, peppers, onions, mushrooms. If I do a curry I'll stick in some chickpeas and broccoli as well.

The kitchen is still looking amazing after Friday's blitz, and I think we've made the first step to a properly decluttered life. We'll do it bit by bit so it's sustainable.

Sympathy to all the illies on here. I'm going to be obssessive about washing my hands etc this week; I certainly don't want to pick up any bugs, but with DH being a teacher, he usually manages to bring something or other home from the kids.

My day was very much like yours yesterday tru! Downside of sleeping most of the day means I've been awake all night though and feel exhausted now

Still, my nose has stopped running and I can breathe now!!! :D :j

Just got to try and think of something to make for breakfast now as we have no milk or bread in at all. Got a couple of eggs I think and some OOD bacon (will have to sniff it first) but not sure I've got the energy to stand cooking anything :o

Need to unload DW and re-load with next lot. Suppose I should make aquaintance with the WM too, if I can be bothered. Might go make a :coffee: first, not had one in days so might wake me up a bit ;)

Hope everyone else is feeling better today and hugs to those who don't :grouphug:
