    Afternoon guys n dolls

Got loads to do and very little time to do it in... social workers are popping round at 5 to visit foster daughter and myself and the flat looks like a bomb has dropped. I really only need to do kitchen and lounge and maybe hallway depending on time so I must get going...

Haven't had time to read thread, hopefully later. We have had no phone or internet since Thursday last, which was very upsetting, back for the last hour and everybody wants on, so trying to catch up is not an option at this stage.

Hugs to all who are not well, who have family not well, or who have trouble of anykind making January even colder than usual.

    Good Afternoon All

Mrs Mix, sorry to hear the news about your knee.

Catowen, excellent news about your blood levels.

Congrats Pooky on your 6th Wedding Anniversary.

Welcome to the new posters, you will enjoy it here.

Hugs to all of you who are poorly, or are looking after poorly ones, or if you just feel like a hug!!

I've just got back from work (well about 30 mins ago, it took me about an 1/2 hour to read all the posts!) and my old-style lunch was using up leftovers of christmas pudding with cream and chocolate ice-cream - YUM. I promise that my dinner will be healthier, I need to use up some eggs before they spoil. I was planning on finishing up the remains of Saturday's sausage casserole but I'm afraid to say that I ate that yesterday evening (10pm).

Plans for this afternoon/evening are to complete my washing, and deep clean the utility/kitchen area.

I was thinking yesterday that in this last week I have stuck with the Grocery Challenge and have some money put aside in savings from it, I have joined the Menu Planner Thread and for the first time I have stuck to it, I have started to knit a blanket using up all the leftover wool that I have had stashed away for years, and I went to the market to buy my fruit and veg. I have so enjoyed it, and wish to thank everyone for your help and inspiration. OOh, and how could I forget, I have got through 17 loads of washing, and I only have about 4 more to go :T

Enough prattling from me, I think. Have a good afternoon.

    Good afternoon!

Didn't get a chance to get on here yesterday and no, it was nothing to do with the Saturday night party:rotfl: To cut a very long story short, Dad rang early yesterday, he'd opened a letter that had been delivered Saturday:confused: Don't ask me why he didn't open it Saturday, anyway got himself in a tizz, crying etc etc. Drive 200 miles to sort it out, and try to cheer him up and in half inch bold type at the top it says * This is for information only, you do not need to do anything. *:rotfl: :rotfl: I had the choice of laugh, cry or commit patricide!!!!!! I went with the first two;) 200 miles back and I'm knackered. I haven't even looked at yesterday's thread, so hope I haven't missed anything too important.:D

(((((hugs)))) to Pam, sorry you've had such rotten news. If there's any fairness in this world, you'd get your replacement quickly. Maybe you'll have to start complaining and moaning lots, and not be such a stoic. It seems to work for others, in my experience;)

catowen, that's brilliant news about your bloods:j Hope you do get signed off, for at least a good long while:D

Domestic goddess Aussie? That'll be the one looking so fetching, dripping with sweat:rotfl: :p

Welcome to the newbies:D You'll like it here, but it is very addictive:rolleyes:

    Happy Anniversary, Pookies:beer:

Got a lamb casserole thingy in the SC for tonight. My new Panny is working out brilliantly, at the moment ( keep those fingers crossed:D ) I'm going to try a fastbake loaf today. So far I've only done the long cook ones, but as I have enough bread if it's a disaster, it seems to be a good day to try it.

Well must get on, I've not done anything except get the SC going.

((((hugs)))) for the poorly ones, these viruses are vicious aren't they?

    CMx

Mrsmix - sorry your news wasnt so good - look on the bright side though.....aussielass could always knit you a dishcloth knee-support? :D

Just got back from taking the kids to the gym session. Its such a shame that they HAVE to be supervised in the ball pond/slide/trampolene/playhouse (but I am such a considerate mum I suffer it!) :D:D:D :rotfl:

Have got the chick peas soaking for the hummus, but I havent a clue what to do for tea!:rotfl:

Ive got some Cream of Tartar that says "BBE July 07" looks ok to me? - does it really go off???

Wouldn't think it goes off in a bad food way, Shez. But might have lost some potency:confused: I'd use it, but then we know me:rotfl:

I'm keen....but not that keen!;) looks like its ending up in the bin then.
