Salesperson prevented me from seeing Car Logbook

Bought a car last year and the dealer removed most of the paperwork with the previous keepers details, some of the
important bits like services they removed the keepers details. But they slipped up and left the receipt for a new tyre
in the handbook which had the keepers name and address.
They should have removed all data and that is why the V5C also removed the previous keepers details when you
receive the new V5C.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
No, it tells you the keeper which in many cases is the same person.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
It's a bit of a shame really. I always used to phone the previous keeper to ask about any issues, they were usually quite honest about any faults. And I had someone contact me for the locking wheel nut key I'd forgotten to leave in the car when I part ex'd it.

Sounds dreadful.
If I'd managed to offload some clunker to the local dodgy car dealer the last thing I want is the poor punter he's managed to shift it onto ringing me up to complain about the fag ends in the centre console or the Radio only getting GB News.

If the previous owner was a company then the dealer can disclose the name provided it doesn't identify an individual.
Of course, the dealer may just have a blanket policy on this.

I think the personal information mentioned here is that most service statements have a name and address on them. Though they could be redacted I assume most dealers will just bin them because it's easier.

Do ex Mobility cars have the company registered on the logbook, or the use/keeper of vehicle. . As I was looking to see if the 3 year old car was ex Mobility ownership. If it was a company I should have seen the document

If the keeper was a company, then there would be nothing to stop the dealer showing it. But equally, there would be no obligation for him to do so.
FWIW I believe Motability cars show the 'driver' (lessee) as the keeper, but the address as Motability's.

They re owned by Motability, not the person who took out the lease.

But the V5C doesn't show the owner.
