Yep thats what I meant - the daily price is a weight average of all day prices, so on 25th July I attached above it was about 19p all day - you missed the chance to max out free periods / cheap periods.

So is agile electric good to go to?

If usage is not too heavy between 4pm-7pm likely to work out cheaper than Octopus Tracker, following day half hour prices are shown on account dashboard from about 4pm onwards day before, no exit fees maybe worth a try.

Entirely down to your ability to be flexible with usage.
In very rough terms if you are very flexiblenand can load shift expensive tasks the average price for the year of 12-15p per kWh. If you can mainly just use the 4-7pm.period least as in just your baseload then 15-20p per kWh.
All of that said we are in uncertain times so for certainty get a fix.

As a long term Agile fan, I'll say it's a brave move to go onto tracker/agile/freephase dynamic heading into winter with the gas situation as it is.
Only do it fully understanding that peaks this winter are likely to be greater and more prolonged than recent years.

It would be brave to fix for a year with Agile :)
But as it's not a fixed tarrif it's a good time to give it a try, if you can lower your usage between 16-19 then you will definitely save on monthly basis, if you can also shift random things like dishwasher etc. to cheaper periods - with Agile you need to check daily when they are (summer 13-16, winter 0-6am most of the time) then even more savings. EDF FreePhase dynamic saves you from doing that really..
Andbif it doesnt work for you - you avergae above the standard rate then you can leave anytime and fix.

And if it doesn't work for you - you average above the standard rate then you can leave anytime and fix.
All true, but keep in mind that the fixes will also change in line with expectations of future prices, so what you could get now for a fix may not be available later if you wait…

An interesting alternative for risk-averse Tracker-Agile-FreePhase users is EonNext Smart Saver.
Peak 4-7pm. 40.22p/kWh
Super off-peak 2-5am 14.83p/kWh
Off-peak (all other times) 20.65p/kWh
Standing Charge 53.6p/day Fixed for 12 months with no exit fees. East Midlands

All true, but if you wait prices could potentially be lower…
And the same logic applies every 3 months in UK.

Its pretty clear prices are going only one way this year and thats up. Arguably people not on a fix already have already missed the boat but given Iran seems no closer to a lasting deal and gas is only going up, thse who haven't fixed will potentially be exposed to some high costs.
As long as people are aware lf that then it's all good, but the headline savings of old on Agile etc should be taken with a pinch of salt going forward.
