Well HHC turned into an hour, as I spent ages looking on the internet for recipes that I could make including tinned tomatoes, as I seem to have got loads of them in the cupboard. I wanted to find something I could do without garlic or onions, as I have parent's evening etc this week, and didn't want to be stinky, but have decided just to use them as they are, but on top of some tortellini with some olive oil and basil. 2 weeks worth of meal plans done, and shopping list written. Just need to get to the shop before it gets too late and I can't be bothered. Will call OH to buy the milk in Iceland whilst he is working in town, as there is nothing else I need in town and won't go in just for that as petrol is getting very expensive here now 105.9p/litre!
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Anyone want to come to supper
got up late after watching a DVD in bed and thought i might cook myself some soup. Then ended up making Leek and Potato soup, Carrot, Pea and Lentil soup, Beef stew in the slow cooker and got everything ready to make a batch of chilli and bolognaise. Just ran out of hob space so thought i would have some of the soup for lunch and go back to the carnage shortly. Am impressed though as ive cooked loads for the week and used up my veg box. Debating whether to make a fruit salad to munch on today too.

Polly that was us too yesterday. We got the edge of it though in N wiltshire but enough to put places underwater.

Was lovely to have a chat on MSN with embb last night. We were a right pair, friday night on the computer with not even a glass in hand . If anyone wants to add me its my username at the hot place . com.

Its rather chilly here so i think i might light the fire. Humm maybe after ive finished cooking and cleared up the carnage in my kitchen. If i dont use it i may end up ahead for monday :p.

    Axxx

holy heck Pollybear that looks horrible, hope you all haven't been too badly effected who are in that area.

Right, ok, not funny, who came in and swithed my DP for someone else while I was out shopping? I came back to find the sofas at the other side of the room and him vacuuming! This is just not right, he usually only does things when I nag.

Anyway, some things I needed bought, went to Aldis and think I saved quite a bit, they're doing selected F&V for 39p every month this year so think I will be popping in quite regular. I hate weekend shopping and knew Tesco would be chaos so went there instead. Collected the dehumidifier, it's a really expensive one and precisely what I was looking at getting so just fingers crossed it helps in the conservatory, over the moon with it and so pleased I asked on there first now.

Sitting room is done anyway, he vacuumed the conservatory aswell then I did the dining room, kitchen and where he'd missed. Daily wash load has just finished so will hang that on the airers. Need to tidy the kitchen, finish putting shopping away etc.
One day I might be more organised...........

Back from our trip. Everything I wanted in Tesco was half price so nice cheap trip. Park was great - they new play stuff was really good so kids had loads of fresh air and exercise.

Recycled the tree - there were fireman there, they had been practising down by the lake so kids got to climb in the fire truck and try the helmets on. I had to chat to the firemen cause it would have been rude not to.

They had chicken pies half price in Tesco but after the jamie program last night I didn't fancy them. I fall in the category of always buying free range/organic chicken and eggs but did not think about the egss in mayo, chicken in pies etc so now reassessing. I don't buy much readyfood but will be thinking harder from now on.

Do you think it is something in the air? My DH as well a doing washing vacuuming etc. has built us a wood store today. Just needed it done for 13 years and now we have a very functional wood store outside. He did build it out at the front of the house, but mustn't complain as we now have somewhere under cover to store firewood. He has also built footings for my long awaited store room.:j

We still have fridge and dishwasher in dining room and kitchen table in the hall.

I hope everyone is well and hugs to those who need them. I am now going to try to read through this thread. There is a lot of catching up to do.

feels like afternoon, looks like evening.. hello whatever!

Had a good rumble through with the vacc this morning and put some washing to dry before I went and fetched my very depressed friend. I ended up driving him to Durham for some lunch as there was too many places he didn't want to be in Newcastle. Poor lad, I really felt for him. Then I made my phonecall to Mr Messy which was sad but neccessary and rang my Mum for a blub and a phone hug.
All things start from here now so you'll have to put up with my company on a regular basis again!

Welcome to Sola and wmf! Sexymouse, I'm glad your first week went well, maybe once you get into the routine of it you'll be able to get on here during the week. Dusty, poor moggy! Will he let you look in his mouth?

MSNers, how does one set it up? I've heard of it and could do with steering clear of Facebook for repsectable while. Aimee, embb any advice?

I think the plan for this evening is meal plan which I haven't done for a few weeks and have been eating badly as a result and a bit of ironing and maybe a new bottle of wine.

    Ho hum, onwards and upwards.

i am exhausted!!! not a lot of sleep and haven't stopped with the packing etc all day! OH has been a complete star - lil_me i think it must be something in the water!! he is great as has made me do it systematically room by room. we have pretty much finished the study which is the worst as i worked from home in here, bathroom is done, bedroom almost there so just kitchen and lounge which will be much easier as they are mostly packed already. we've returned a lot of stuff to it's rightful owners and have filled the bin, as well has several more bags for the bin men (i will try and sweet-talk them into taking more on monday morning). he is just having a break catching the footie results and i am just surfing the net then we'll carry on til about 7pm when we're going to have a chinese :D

sort order of service and email to printer
chase up photographer- meeting her tomorrow
pack rest of stuff - kitchen, bedrooom, study, bathroom, lounge
change curtains back to ones that came with flat
change hen do date with curry house
    meet boss - he cancelled
collect extra boxes from boss' garage
    return trainers to millets
    fill wheelie bin
    set up ipod :D

    order mattress
borrow kettle, pan etc from friend (so everything can be packed)

have also ordered the rest of the presents we needed for people for the wedding, set up postal redirection, paid cheques in and sent a card to my gran!
