Thank you all so much for your support. Am about to ring DH to see how it went. I hope he's ok and that he enjoyed it. Have just asked for info from AQA to see if I can drum up some cash, too. Take the pressure off him finding another full-time job. Fingers firmly crossed.

Edit to add: Huge, huge, huge thanks to Ellidee for pointing me in keren29's direction. Keren answered all of my questions and even linked me through to the site! Hip hip hooray for Ellidee!

Asda sell it G&B around 50-60p I think.

Hardly done a thing except sleep today lol had to go to the shops and the kids wanted chippy for tea I was too exhausted to say no so that's what they've had, I have however got my second wind now so I've swept the living room floor done a quick s&s in there too, and I'm about to go and run littleys bath and tackle her room whilst it's filling.

That's great news about your OH's job maralum :T

Scrubbed at the bottom of the iron with vinegar (thanks lil_me) and scrunched up foil (read that somewhere once, I think:confused: ) Seems to be coming off but stuff left behind will have another bash later.

Meant to say earlier, try putting the iron on on a very low setting and then ironing an old tea towel across the edge of the board like you are sawing through a piece of wood. I have done that before when I have melted things to the base  everything get's ironed on quite or very HOT here!

    Maralum,

I hope DH did Ok and will get more work - and, indeed, a permanent job PDQ. Has he had any interview / CV writing tips and things? As someone who is occasionally at the other end of the job hunting process (i.e. recruiting) I see things from the recruiter's perspective.

It's important his CV is exact, concise and accurate (no spelling mistakes etc) - when a recruiter is faced with, say, 20 CVs for the same job, the initial sift HAS to be done on the CV. If there's not enough relevance or clarity, it'll be put straight onto the 'no' pile.

Then, when he does get an interview it's extremely important that he shows confidence about his abilities - even if he's feeling really desperate inside.

    Hugs

It's a fair enough question embb! The proper answer is: "if I told you, I'd have to shoot you". Except that quote came from someone acting as a pilot in the USAF. I don't work for the USAF nor the RAF for that matter - nor am I an actor - but I am surrounded daily by extremely fit men in uniform (the view is superb!) :D at the office where I provide my freelance consulting services.

And that answer is as probably as clear as mud - but that's the way it has to stay on a public forum!

Ellidee easy way to do links, click on the number at the top of the post it'll look like #471 like this one does but with a different number. Copy the link which comes up in the address bar when you have done that. Paste it into the post. Voila, linky done.
    mumzyof2 welcome

Right, I'm now officially lazy, I made DS1s dinner & desert for the boys, put my sheets in the TD (haven't used it for ages so you'll have to let me off) I put the dirty stuff in the DW now I am sat on my lazy bum while DP and DS2 are tidying the conservatory :rotfl: this makes a change!!!! Wonder what he's after? I'll have to help in a mo as DS2 keeps wandering in the sitting room with boxes of stuff, so pressuming they are for me to sort out.

soappie, I can easily go 'off' people :p with a view like that and you were moaning about doing tax stuff, sheesh, it'd be a pleasure to go to work with such a nice view.
One day I might be more organised...........
